Backlund Plumbing

Don't use Backlund Plumbing, my neighbor down the street from me, has had them many times at her house, I thought because she was getting projects done, but they mentioned, that the plumbers don't know what their doing and they have to call their office again to get someone out to their house. From what she said , their not cheap. Shop elsewhere, I think their service is just OK, which means look elsewhere.

Highly recommended! We just bought a house a week ago and immediately had plumbing issues causing water in our basement. We first called the company that held our home warranty on Monday to be told they couldn’t make it out until Thursday. Come Thursday, they cancelled until Friday. We decided to try calling Backland and they came out same day! Dwight and his crew came out late on a Friday night and fixed the issue as well as provided us recommendations regarding our plumbing. These guys treated us like family and we will definitely use them in the future if needed!

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. We showed the technician a list of problems we needed fixed and he refused to look at it, thinking he knew better. He refused, twice, to do work that is covered by our home warranty company even though that was all we asked for. Additionally, the technician repeatedly displayed misogynistic attitudes toward both my wife and sister in law, refusing to share quotes with them but readily sharing the same quote with a Male friend. In the first instance we dealt with this company, the technician refused to do work on a water heater that was covered by our warranty. We ended up calling Home Depot who did the work we asked for, which we had to pay out of pocket and was $2,400 cheaper than the price quoted by the arrogant technician. They lost a $2,200 deal because of the techician's arrogance and refusal to DO WHAT WE ASKED. The second time we dealt with this company, the same technician REFUSED TO LOOK AT THE LIST OF REPAIRS WE ASKED FOR and then told us that, whatever HE had decided to fix was not covered by our warranty. This is absolutely a terrible company with awful customer service, rude and sexist technicians, and their bad attitudes and attempts to rip off their customers is giving a bad name to even the home warranty company we use. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Hot water line valve came apart on a Saturday morning. Like other commentators, I tried a 24/7 place first and got a Monday appointment (?). Backlund returned the call promptly, came out when they said they would, did a fantastic job and cleaned up, and charged a very reasonable amount. Have already shared them with friends and family that needed help. The ONLY bad thing I would say is that the emergency service info is not easy to find online. You need to leave a phone message and listen to all of your choices.

I called them out to fix a tub that would not drain. The first person who came OUT was NOT a plumber and could not unplug the drain. He identified the problem as a specific pipe and stated that they would need to send out an actual plumber. The plumber came out and replaced the pipe that the first guy stated was the problem. Unfortunately, the pipe that they replaced was NOT connected to the tub at issue but was a drain line for a different tub. The next day they sent out another non-plumber to use a more aggressive method to clear the blockage. This caused the pipe to burst requiring a visit from yet a forth person to replace the pipe (after cutting a 2/4 hole in my wall). Backlund billed me for all four visits (the only discount was they did not charge me overtime for the second visit that was after hours). In short, the misdiagnosed the problem, fixed the wrong thing, broke a pipe and charged me to replace it. They keep sending bills and every time I receive one a call to discuss the issue but they will not call back. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Edit: Backlund never did resolve this after a few calls and I'm still looking for a licensed plumber to pass their inspection. Backlund was hired to replace a water heater and work on a sewer line for our house due to an MUD water main break which caused severe damage. For all work that Backlund did, they did not get a plumbing permit before starting the work. Backlund told us that a plumbing permit is not required when working on a sewer line if it's inside the house, which the City informed us is not true. They got a plumbing permit after doing the work in both cases, and the initial plumbing inspection failed due to work not being to code. Further, Backlund did not even tell us the plumbing failed inspections until I looked it up online weeks later. The plumbers themselves seemed professional and it was an extremely disappointing experience. We are now in a position that we have to hire a different plumber to resolve remaining issues so it will pass an inspection.

Alex G came right away when we called with a water heater issue. He fixed the problem, and educated us so that we can keep the water heater in good working condition. Very impressed with the quick service, professionalism, and time to show us what to do. Thanks Alex!!!

Had a problem at first, the owner took time out of his day to make sure that we got our problem handled. Everyone is going to make mistakes it how you handle them that makes you great! Nice job Chris!

We trusted backlund to ensure the lift station in our house was functioning properly and in good condition before agreeing to purchase our house. $1200 later someone named Jake said it was good to go. So we agreed with the purchase of the house. A month later it stopped working and our laundry room flooded. When we called backlund they said Jake no longer works there and sent someone else out. They took one look at the lift station and said it was at the end of its life and needed to be replaced. BACKLUND FAILED TO DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION BEFORE WE PURCHASED OUR HOUSE. They did a patch up job so it seemed to function for the sale. Given we can not afford a new 5k lift station we asked if they would patch it up again. They got some new parts re used some old parts of another lift station and billed us $1200. So now we are $2400 in to what should have just been 5k in the first place. They should have replaced it initially because now when everything is said and done we will have nearly $7500 invested in this lift station instead of what should have just been 5k to begin with. The parts they purchased will just be replaced because everything would come with the new lift station. On top of that we were billed 6 hours for an electrician who missed a rusted out pipe that connects the lift station from inside to outside. If you spend 6 hours trying to figure out why something does not work you think they would actually examine what they are trying to fix. Unbelievable. We are taking our issue to the better business bureau.

Just had service performed by Backlund Plumbing. Tech was named Justin. Justin was excellent. He worked efficiently and kept me informed of his work and the issues he ran into. Please send him back here next time.
