Urgent Pet Care Of Papillion

Our first experience with them was when I called to ask about making an appointment on the weekend. Without even seeing our pet or knowing his age, the receptionist asked if we were wanting to assess his quality of life or have him treated… not the best first impression. Yet we went. Upon arrival, we were quickly placed in a room and a tech came in to take our pets vitals and ask why we brought him in. We explained his symptoms and the doctor came in to see him. They presented their initial plan of treatment (with no testing done only listening to my description of what we had seen at home) of 1200. We asked if we could start with testing or with fluids or medicine to get the vomiting to stop. It was a back and forth scenario and felt more like a car dealership than the health of our animal who was obviously very sick. In the end, our pet was given pain medicine without any lab work… (which according to our second opinion never should have happened and was a more aggressive medicine than he should have received) and went home. Our paperwork says we “denied” the blood work but we know that it was no longer being offered because we didn’t want him to spend the night there and wanted him to receive more long term or preventative care with our primary vet. Our animal died the next day and our family is completely heartbroken. While we can’t blame this office for his passing, we wish we would have been more demanding with blood work or imaging to determine the root of the problem instead of just assuming he had something based on my description. Perhaps if we had tried a different animal hospital ours would still be with us…

This was my first time visiting Urgent Pet Care. I would definitely recommend going there to everyone I know. My senior cat was in a lot of pain and they got me in within an hour on a Saturday. The registration process on my phone was simple, and allowed me to get in quickly once I arrived. The vet explained what the process would be and together we agreed that it would be best to put my cat to sleep. Everyone was so kind and gave me the time to say goodbye . It was a hard time, but both my cat and myself were treated with so much compassion by the staff. I would definitely go back .

I came in with my sick dog and didn’t feel compassion from the main vet of this clinic. My dog was very sick but they told me to put my dog down in very harsh way which felt like they were accusing me of keeping my dog alive. When one has had a pet for 15 years he is a companion, friend, and family and my family and I wanted to try to help my dog until the last moment. This place didn’t understand. our perspective. They didn’t give me a report of vitals or what was done on my dog only that it was over for my pet. I felt like I needed to run from this place. I believe that people who work in the profession of medicine or veterinary care need to be compassionate , understanding. and loving toward pets and families. It is essential to use the right words to say bad news to families. Going to this clinic has made saying goodbye to my dog a sadder experience for me. I decided not to say goodbye to my dog here but at my vet clinic where I felt love, support, understanding, and compassion. Being in health profession is.not just about being book smart and saying results and news to family bluntly. It also requires a professional to be loving when saying things to consider the stress and mental health of clients.

Wow, I can not put into words the amount of thankfulness and appreciation I have for this clinic. Our baby girl had to go through some MAJOR surgery. We had originally taken her to a different place for an overnight hospitalization. We had not been pleased with the service or the price so we ended up moving to UPC in Papillion. AND BOY was that the BEST decision we could've made. The amount of considerate care they did for her and ways they prepped us for her healing journey along with her 2.5 week old litter has blown me away. They took our girl, us and her puppies in as family. This team is amazing, effective, kind, compassionate and truly does right by all animals. I will FOREVER be grateful for their support through our incredibly difficult times.

My cat, Goose, was an emergency inpatient for 36 hours due to a urinary blockage. Everyone, from the front desk staff to the nurses and vets, provided him with the best care. The staff is wonderful about staying in contact with you and providing updates on his care. I was even able to visit him during his stay. He was treated with compassion and expertise. I'm grateful for them.

The staff here is truly top notch. I came inside in a panic as my cat had just had a seizure. They immediately checked him in and took great care of him. He had to stay overnight and they updated me every 6 hours and even sent me photos of my baby. Can’t recommend enough!!

Took my 3 year old cat in as his bladder has a blockage and they started treatments right away. The staff here seem to truly care for the well being of the patients (our precious pets) and have been keeping me updated every 4-6 hours like they said they would. I truly believe my precious kitty is in the best hands for care and treatment wise and I would recommend this place if your pet ever has a medical emergency.

Great experience out of something very scary! They took excellent care of my cat, providing updates even overnight (including pictures). They seemed very knowledgeable in regards to his condition and were wonderful explaining things when I called after I got him home from the “kitty ICU” to make sure what I was seeing was normal. I was worried because this wasn’t “our vet” when Tucker got sick, but 10/10 would use them for after hours emergency care again without hesitation.

Words and a 5 star review cannot explain how grateful we are for the care and compassion we received. Our 7 month old puppy was there for a few days and they always updated us and no matter how busy they were, if we called they took the time to get us answers to our questions.

I can’t thank the staff enough for the effort they put towards diagnosing and treating my 2 year old pup Nadi. Everyone there was so passionate and understanding. They were very transparent about options and pricing, and was willing to go above and beyond to make sure my dog survived a serious situation. I won’t think twice about where to go next time If I happen to run into another emergency.
