Room awesome. Queens are more like doubles. Bathroom to die for. Very cool vibe. Food and drinks great. Walkable to lots of restaurants. Downside. The pool area turns into a complete MTV spring break. Drunk chicks everywhere. 911 had to be called on one of them. We came for my doctoral graduation with our 11 year olds. Plan was a Saturday pool day to enjoy as family before we hit the road. Had to cut it short as it became very inappropriate for kids by the pool. So. If your coming with family perhaps choose somewhere else as this is a party place.

Attended a conference but didn't stay in a room. Great gem tucked nicely in midtown. Lots of charm, class, and amenities. Friendly staff making it a great conference.

Love everything about The Cottonwood. Outstanding rooms, food, staff, service and facilities. Beautifully updated classic hotel. Will always stay here when in Omaha!

The room and employees (except for one) we’re fantastic !! The food in the steakhouse and cocktails at all locations were also great. The only disappointment was the pool. This was our main reason for staying. For $800+ for two nights, the pool was packed and nowhere to sit. I was disappointed to hear they offered membership to the pool outside of guests staying there. I probably won’t return for this reason.

We just returned from a four night stay at the Cottonwood to celebrate our 47th anniversary and were very disappointed. We have stayed at many 4 star hotels and this is not one of them. The public areas are beautiful but the little touches that mark a quality hotel just are not there. Our room was very small with a desk and one chair. I called down for a second chair and was given a dining chair. Our view was of the other building. We had 2 towel sets and a bath towel hanging on the rack with hand marks on it when we arrived. We were supplied with one tiny bar of soap and moisturizer for our four days. Housekeeping service must be requested daily and apparently the housekeepers are only there during a day shift. If you need towels or toilet paper outside of those hours, you're either out of luck or the front desk girls will bring them when they have time. There are no coffeemakers in the rooms. You must stand in line in the lobby for coffee which seems to run out far too frequently. The water glasses in our room were filthy. I placed the glasses on the sink hoping to have them replaced with clean ones but returned to have the same dirty glasses turned over on new coasters. The trash cans did not have liners in them and the cans themselves were not cleaned. The one bathrobe was so old and tattered I wouldn't even give it to Goodwill. The bedding consists of 2 sheets enveloped over a comforter. Unless you don't move in your sleep, you end up with that unclean comforter on you. There is no information in the room about the hotel only a sign to get information via a smartphone. We are older and not that internet savvy. We had to ask at the front desk for maps and information but the young girl working there didn't seem to be familiar with the area. The biggest disappointment was the pool. It is absolutely beautiful, but the hotel sells memberships and day passes. It wasn't too bad on weekdays but at 8am on Saturday and Sunday EVERY table and lounger was reserved with towels and bags. There were 4 people at the pool, but all chairs were saved. As others have said the big speakers come out around 1pm and play hip hop music loudly. The pool was packed with 20 somethings that were drunk and doing cannonballs into the water. There were literally no spaces to stand in the pool near the edge. Not the relaxing day at the pool that we had envisioned. The staff was mostly very young and very pleasant. The valet was excellent but $30 a day for parking is excessive. As a IHG platinum rewards member, I also was disappointed that we didn't receive any acknowledgement of our 47th anniversary. We will not be returning to the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel or recommending it.

We have stayed at the Cottonwood multiple times since they opened. We were excited to have a destination/stay-cation hotel in Omaha. Top notch food at the Committee Room and top notch drinks at any bar in the hotel. In addition the facility is fantastic. However, the most wonderful part of each experience is the customer service. From the front desk to house keeping - phenomenal This last weekend was a disappointment.. The facility is starting to show some wear. The trim was starting to come loose in multiple areas of the room and a few small other details. Not anything huge, but it’s already starting to show some significant wear after 2 years. It happens at every facility but the real disappointment was the staff. We have been blown away in the past by the staff’s thoughtfulness and attention to detail. This time between the pool staff and front desk was indifference. Valet was good and we tipped accordingly. If the GM reads this - we understand trying to staff a hotel right now has to be a huge challenge. We get it, but it’s the treatment after the stay that is alarming. My partner left a dress hanging in the closet. We noticed as soon as we got home and called. Two days later we have called multiple times and talked to the front desk. We have had to do all the calling and get no call backs. We get it, it’s on us - we left the dress. However in the past the customer service would’ve been so good and responsive. This time around it it feels like no one even cares. I get that mentality at a Hampton Inn or something like that. However not at a price point like the Cottenwood. after us doing all of the calling, nobody can find the dress. Maybe some other patron took it, who knows stuff happens. My partner ordered another dress, but we sure would like some interaction from the hotel and the staff to have the same kind of enthusiasm we love and kept us coming back.

Throwaway account: Needed to book a hotel for a business meeting in Omaha, but saw Alex Jones was located at this hotel. I attempted to book around the individual, but hotel staff was unable to provide me with definitive details regarding a safe, comfortable stay. Extremely frustrated because I was attempting to respect their decision to host him, but was unable to receive a guaranteed time to check in without his presence.

Omg! My room smells of dogs or some animal! My allergies are off the chart! The front desk help was unsympathetic when I asked why I didn’t have water at 1:30 in the morning!! Ugh I’m 60 years old need to go to the restroom several times a night!! Ps why were we not warned ? In addition, a house keeper opened my door in the afternoon while I was drying my hair scared the life out of me!! Or no tag was in my room! Your service in the Orleans room is substandard!! My sister and her husbands room smells of cigarette smoke! Ugh! They are happier with the cigarette smell than sticky dog smell!! Your management needs to change!

Omaha is lucky to have a hotel of this caliber. The attention to detail in this property is incredible. The developers were able to preserve original flooring in certain parts of the hotel, but married that with a modern boutique concept. We were traveling from New York and felt like we never left the city. The pool party was fun (recommend getting there early to lock in a chair), food across every venue was great, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Blown away and looking forward to our next stay.

I travel often for work, so I stay in a lot of hotels. This stay in Omaha far exceeded other trips thanks to the staff and facilities at the Kimpton Cottonwood. My room was spacious, luxurious, and immaculate. There were several dining and drink options, and they were all fantastic! The servers at each of the four areas I visited were all incredibly friendly and helpful as was the front desk, pool, and housekeeping staff. And, they all seem to love their jobs. That says a lot about management at the hotel! The other guests were courteous, happy, and good-natured. The resort-style pool made me feel like I was far, far away on an island rather than on a business trip 6 hours from home. If I lived In Omaha, this would absolutely be my go-to staycation location. I am already trying to find a time to come back - with my husband next time!
