Fred's Heating and Air

Called at 7:30AM and Fred's had my system up and running before noon on what turned out to become a 99F day. And for a reasonable price. Knowledgable technician had the issue diagnosed within the first few minutes. And none of the usual sales pitches about needing to replace our old HVAC system. I know who I will be calling when we decide to upgrade to something more efficient. Thanks!

During the record high heat on June 13, 2022, our a/c went out. The Fred's servicer on call came to our house at 9 pm and fixed our unit and we were up and running by 10 pm. We were grateful that they had the parts on the truck and were so responsive. Thank you Fred's team - GREAT JOB

Good people doing good work. They showed up when they said they would, even called to say they were on their way. They diagnosed the issue, ordered the parts and all is good. First on my list to call.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED We had Fred's install a new furnace and ac unit. We are seriously happy with the Trane equipment. Everyone that we worked with from Fred's was courteous and professional. We needed to tile the basement floor, so they gave us four days between the tear out and the new installation. The installers did excellent work and cleaned up the whole area. The cost was very competitive and they took care of registering the equipment with the manufacturer and filing for the OPPD rebate. We will use them for any HVAC needs from now on.

I called on Saturday to schedule an appointment for assistance with installing a Nest thermostat. They were able to fit me in 3 days later on Tuesday which was great. I advised the person over the phone that it was a Nest Gen 3 thermostat that I needed assistance with and she stated they charge $120 per hour plus any additional materials that may be needed once on site, which was also fine and sounded reasonable. Fast forward to Tuesday and within 5 minutes of being here, the nice gentleman informed me that Nest thermostats don't support 3 stage heating systems. While he was in his van charging my card for $120, I quickly located Nest's Pro Installer instructions online where they clearly detail out exactly how to install the thermostat on a 3 stage heat pump with emergency/auxiliary heating + 2 stage cooling system within just a couple minutes. I asked the gentleman about this when he returned to the house with my credit card and he suggested I call another HVAC company that specializes in Nest thermostats. I completely understand needing to be paid for work performed, even if it wasn't the desired outcome, but this complete waste of money could've been avoided had the person that scheduled the appointment just told me up front that they don't know how to install Nest thermostats. Having used Fred's for several other services, I thought I would've gotten better service than this. I wouldn't have minded calling another company had I known up front that it was going to cost me $120 just to be told that they don't know how to install Nest thermostats. The fact that an inexperienced person such as myself was able to find clear instructions and do the work myself within about 30 minutes should tell you that you should just stick to core HVAC system work if you're going to use this company as it appears anything other than the most basic thermostats are not their forte (which is OK, but just tell people this before scheduling an appointment and charging them $120).

Jim did a fantastic job! He was on time even on a Sunday!! My AC stopped working and not one other company could would be able to get to me. But, Jim did!! He was excellent and repaired my AC and cleaned my AC unit. Thanks Jim! I appreciate your hard work and dedication to helping people. Sharon

We had Freds out to install a couple gas lines for a gas range and a garage heater. They got us in insanely early for the middle of winter and gave us what we felt was a very fair bid on the work. They installed shut off valves everywhere they should have been and the work was very tidy. The people who came out were friendly and took care of our home. They also took 10 minutes to ensure I had the right items to hook the heater up once the lines were run. Would highly recommend!

Chris came out to my house and was so very good!! Friendly, thorough, and just awesome. This was my first time using Fred’s and it most certainly won’t be my last!
