Better mexican can be found at Fernando's or Hector's. I am not sure why this place gets voted number one in Omaha.

La Mesa is a sit-down Hispanic restaurant. Their food is really tasty and full of flavor, plus they have an extensive selection of margaritas. The prices are about average for a place like this, being anywhere from $9 to $19 per entree. Overall, it is a great place to try out if you're in town!

I ordered hard shell tacos and the shells were stale I wasn't going to say anything but ended up saying something and the waiter was like well it's almost gone so what do you want me to do about it. His tone was a little rude he did bring me one. My fault I should have spoke up sooner but your a Mexican place don't serve stale taco shells

The chili Verde Colorado with red sauce .... phew boy is it hottttttt but man it's sooooooo good! 10/10

I ordered a chimichanga and brought it home. The tortilla was hardly fried, still completely soft. The beef was bland and seemed completely unseasoned. The refried beans were liquidy and tasteless. The cheese dip tasted terrible (had it before and it was fine.) And the guacamole was dark, I only live 10 minutes away.

I LOVE THE MOLCAJETE!!!! If you like spicy, you have to give that dish a try! Definitely my favorite!

The restaurant is comfortable, the food is prepared fast, the service is always very good, appropriately priced, and its kid-friendly. I give it 5 stars for being exactly what I expect it to be, consistently.
