2 of the 4 meals came our feeling like they took them out of the fridge. They did bring out new ones. Decor is nice and clean. The council bluffs location does have better tasting food.

Went in with small group after soccer game. Hostess was very accommodating to us not being sure of our final number. Waiter asked if we were waiting for more and then took our drink and food order promptly. Brought plenty of chips and salsa for us to snack while waiting. All dishes were hot from the kitchen and delicious.

Fast, attentive service even when very busy. Lunch express menu is well priced and everyone was happy with their selections. They easily accommodate substitutions or alterations to your plate ie no beans but extra rice etc. Nice atmosphere, not too loud, can easily hold a conversation at your table. Food was good value for the price.

Molcajete is my favorite dish, always good!! The salsa and chips are a added bonus everytime! Good food, great service, friendly!!

Great food! But a little on the expensive side fortunately I had a buy one get one! So I’m giving this place 5 stars for the deal deal and the great food! Rice was mildly seasoned. Meat was tender and the beans were a little flat. Salsa very authentic! Our service was great and the place is adorable! I love the decor with Spainvibe and a fountain in the middle!

I remember when La Mesa used to be one of the best Mexican places in town to go to. I feel like they chained out to fast and spread themselves thin. Service was slow and the food was bland. Their salsa is just tomato sauce with a few chunks of onion and tons of cilantro. Lunch prices are affordable. Loved their margaritas back in the day but hadn't had a chance to grab one recently.

CHEATS YOU ON YOUR ONLINE DELIVERY ORDER I ordered two dinner entree dinners via DoorDash. After the order was delivered, one of the entrees had half of the food items missing. Called the restaurant, was told DoorDash needed to handle. Called DoorDash, was reordered same entree with no charge. What was delivered? Three bowls of iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes and some sour cream. How weird is that???One bowl only had a few shreds of lettuce. The food that I did get was not good. Despite La Messa claim to be "the best Mexican restaurant in the Midwest", the food was sloppy, messy, tasteless, and missing food that I paid for. La Mesa should change their claim to "worst Mexican restaurant in the Midwest". Don't bother to order online, take your money to the grocery store for better tasting food.
