Kona Grill - Omaha

I wish I had taken a picture of my $21 Rocky Mountain Omelette today at brunch. For $21, you'd think your omelette would be out of this world and, serving size wise, be of decent size. They brought out what was possibly the world's smallest omelette with some fried potatoes. It was underwhelming for this restaurant calling themselves upscale. Go to First Watch, you'll get better quality and a more substantial breakfast and leave satisfied, all for less money.

Kona has definitely taken a nose dive. It is overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. I’ve been coming here for years, and always had a great time. Consistently good service and usually good food. Now they raised the prices and the food just is not worth the price. And no happy hour on Sunday?! Used to love that. It was almost empty when I was there today. That’s too bad. They had a good thing going.

The food was excellent my guest and I ordered dinner. My guest wanted sushi and wanted a catapillar which was there favorite and the waited went above and beyond to accommodate the request after asking the Sushi maker. My guest was very pleased! I was so happy She did that for us. Thank you!

Came in the other weekend with a friend of mine. Food was good but there was a taller man (who I presume was a manager because he was wearing a suit) who gave me and my friend an unsettling feeling he stood in the dining room on his phone which took away from our fine dining experience. The waitress was amazing and recommended a few good dishes. My burger was cooked perfectly and my friends food made her smile for the first time in a month.

Naomi was our server. She was very amazing and made sure our first visit was nice. Honest and suggested great menu items. And was very kind with our specifications and food request and ensured that our food was to our liking and amidst being busy she had very nice conversation. If I had the power I would promote her TODAY!

We ate at Kona the other night. We had an outstanding service from Rj. Food and drinks were really good. Will definitely come back, 100% recommend

Wonderful staff! The food was pretty good but I felt the price was high for the amount and quality. My partner and I went and did all appetizers and that helped bring down the budget a bit but wasn't super filling. The chicken satay sure was tasty, though. Everyone in there was kind and having a good time.

Father’s Day called for a new restaurant…well done Dad! I played it safe and made an online table reservation (thanks Yelp) and glad I did. They were fairly busy around 1 pm. We were seated immediately and greeted by our super friendly server. He opted for a beer while I went fancy with the servers recommendation: Patio Bubbles. It was very fruity with a tartness from the lemonade I’m guessing…either way it was really good. We went with calamari and spicy edamame. The calamari was tender, and the edamame was definitely angry. Wow very spicy but good! The boy’s went with a house salad and a kid’s bento box. Both loved their meals, and my youngest opted for the brownie sundae for an additional $1. My Sushi platter (can’t remember what I ordered now) was flavorful. (I know it had lobster, shrimp, & avocado in it!. I definitely want to come back again!

I used to love going to Kona about 5 years ago. I came back to Omaha for a visit and it was HORRIBLE. Not only was the staff terrible and it took 30 minutes to get sat (there was no wait - just no one working in the front). When we finally sat down it took another 30 minutes to get our drinks we ordered. The server brought ONE drink at a time, 10 minutes apart, even though we could see that all drinks were made and sitting on the sidebar (getting watered down). 2/5 drinks sat there for so long that I had to grab them from the bar MYSELF. The server saw me do that, shrugged and claimed she was "busy". Then they were out of almost everything we ordered. They have condensed their entire menu, taking off their best items. AND the food they decided to leave on the menu all were changed, weather it was the breading, sauce, etc. Our sushi sat at the bar long enough that it was soggy and falling apart when we attempted to eat it. Even the rolls without sauce were falling apart. So disappointed and not worth the money anymore. I can safely say, I will never go back to this establishment again.

First time visiting; service was great and food was excellent! Ribeye was tender and cooked perfectly. I would prefer the rolls be a tad smaller so it could be more of a one-bite, but it was delicious (Wave Roll). Opted out of the Island Butter as I felt like there were too many flavors once you added it (but luckily it comes on the side)
