Motel 6 North Platte, NE

Paid $100 total on a Friday night last minute booking just off the freeway. Basic room. No coffee, shampoo or conditioner in room but clean, secure and good enough for 8 hrs of sleep in the middle of a trip along I-80. All other options in North Platte were about the same or more expensive.

Worst motel 6 I ever stayed at. Bugs where in the hallway, the room smelled like somebody was smoking in the room and got told when I checked in that I will be charged $150 as a fine if I smoked or had any pets in the room. I checked in at 3am and the girl at the front desk That was working overnight said that I can check out at 1pm. I got woken up at 11:35am and I called the front desk and ask why would they come knocking at my door that early if I asked to check out at 1pm due to getting my 10hr rest due to the elogs. I have my niece with me so it is only right to get a motel/hotel while I travel with her. I was only getting a room till I drop her off with her dad in Iowa, then after that I will be sleeping in my rig at the truck stops instead of a hotel. If I can I would give this motel 6 a -10 star. The front desk girl said she was telling me that cuz her manger was right next to her, so that tells me the jump when they are told at that moment.

The room was good except that the water pressure was so high that it sprayed all over me every time I washed my hands. Service was good, and very professional. The location was okay for being near restaurants, except that there wasn't a good breakfast place within walking distance.

Avoid!!! Put is in room 105, directly under a staircase. ALL NIGHT LONG I hear people stomping up and down the stairs. Got maybe four hours of sleep. Slept so poorly I couldn't make it to my destination the next day, necessitating a second hotel where I could actually get a decent night's sleep. I've never had such a bad hotel experience.

Filthy room covered in dust with dusty cobwebs in ceiling corners and dirty, soap scum and lint filled shower with no water pressure and very oddly placed shower head. There was a random plastic bag covering a pre-tripped fire alarm. Office staff blamed previous guests for it when asked to come remove/ reset it. When office staff was made aware of the cleanliness issue, she excused it all away. Found a cockroach nymph scurrying around behind the laminate covering on phone. Hall door does not seal completely (see attached photo where the hall light is visible all around the closed door) but apparently it does lock. Long hairs found in linens and pillows. Damage to walls and bathroom door. Nonsmoking building but hall smells strongly of sweet smoke. Housekeeping will still enter your room even if you've asked not to be disturbed. There are no Do Not Disturb signs. Was told to call (never did get a number) in the morning, every morning, to refuse minor housekeeping service of new towels and trash removal. Specifically asked office in person to not be disturbed. Staff ignored this request and entered room anyway. Office only activated cards for one night instead of three. We were locked out of the building. Had to get cards fixed but they said both were deactivated because of the credit card next to it in a wallet. Because credit cards are strong magnates now. Building is right next to the highway but there have been absolutely no attempts to soundproof the window, walls, or door. Could hear the midnight parking lot party Very clearly. Extremely thin walls and ceiling/ floor. You will know if an adjacent room has been rented. Air conditioner works but is very loud and sounds like it needs maintenance, as does the wall next to it. Poor Wi-Fi signal on ground floor close to office. Pool out of service for chemical/ pump maintenance, office didn't know when/ if it would be repaired. It was not repaired during our visit. Absolutely no amenities except for small bar soap. No coffee pot, no microwave, no refrigerator, no bath tub as was expected from the pictures. Can only exit the motel directly onto a busy highway going out of town. We checked out a day early when I woke up to a bug crawling on my arm.

This place was terrible. We just needed a cheap place to rest on our way across the country. We first went to the other Motel 6 in town (which looked much newer and nicer) only to find out our reservation was at the other Motel 6 in town. When we got to our room the toilet appeared to be dirty along with the shower and a piece of dog food was left on the floor in the bathroom. I have seen cleaner pit toilets. There was no shampoo, tissues or coffee in the room. To top it off there was a cricket in our room that continued to chirp all night and when we called the front desk there was no solution to help. This was my first and last stay at a Motel 6. If you go to north Platte do not stay here.

AC works well and is quieter than most hotel AC units. Rooms are small, really small. Hotel is really old, but we'll kept. Shower only, no bathtubs. Double beds, no queens. No shampoo in room. 1 bar soap for everything.

Not terribly expansive but for the nearly $70 after taxes price, I did expect a little more. I've stayed at Motel 6's before and it's always been pleasant. This time not so much. The inside walkways were in need of repair. The room was in better condition. It had a nice look on first inspection. On second, it was very minimalistic. No amenities. The booking app stated that there was a "kitchen". I didn't need a kitchen, but a simple coffee pot would have been nice to heat up water for an oatmeal in the morning. (They did state that there would be coffee available on the little table by the checkout in the morning.) No microwave or fridge. The bed was harder than I like, but that was just my preference. However, they it had the plastic on it to protect from spills. So not very comfy to sleep on. On to the bathroom. Dirty. The previous stay must have been a guy. Some beard hair in sink and pee on the toilet bowl rim. The shower appeared clean and they had a very unique design. The shower head plumbing was mounted on the ceiling of the shower. So it rained down. As I have long hair, it was impossible to shower without getting it wet, something that with below freezing weather outside, I had not wish to do. Even if I did with it to get wet, there was not shampoo or conditioning to wash it with. So, it did it's job to get me out of the snow storm, but I won't stay there again. And honestly, I probably would not have had even taken the time to write a review if there had even been a way to cook up a nice cup of something hot while there.

The room was immaculate and I felt very safe. Staff was friendly and helpful. I left without my charger, and they were nice enough to call so I could go back and get it. 10/10 would recommend.

Hallways could use an update but the room we had was remodeled and clean. It's close to the hospital so it was an easy place for us to stay. Front desk was very helpful. She said for hospital things to call direct that they have a better rate then online.
