Best Western Plus Ogallala Inn

I did have some bad luck with this hotel, but I still give it 5 stars. Bad luck was we found out we had no water in our room (201) the next morning. A plumbing problem had supposedly shut off the water to 101, 201 and 301, a mistake, I guess it happens. And they had no other available rooms so we could shower, luckily we had friends and 3 other rooms rented, so we used their shower. Still waiting to see if hotel gives any compensation, was told since it was booked through Priceline we might be sol!

My family and I found ourselves stranded in Ogallala after our vehicle's alternator gave up the ghost. The nearby Holiday Inn and a few other places were suggested, but they were all booked up, but a quick call to the BW+ revealed they had rooms available. I haven't been inside a BW in quite some time and was blown away by how clean and up-to-date it looked! They even had hot coffee available, which was *sorely* needed! The overnight attendant Paul (who shall forever be St. Paul in my eyes) hooked us up with a great deal. As if that wasn't great enough, the room was beautiful, very clean, and a decent amount of space. The hotel itself was very quiet, very clean, and the breakfast was just what my family needed after our ordeal! We wound up staying there for three days waiting for our vehicle to get fixed and got to see the rest of the staff were as kind and courteous as St Paul! They even recommend a number of nearby places to get supplies since everything was still in our car. I actually kinda miss the place now!

Great updated clean rooms. Nice modern tech feel. Great breakfast included. Great place to stay.

Excellent weekend. Super clean. Manager, front desk and housekeeping staff made us feel so welcomed.

Pros - dog friendly, decent breakfast, great amenities outside (Walmart, etc), parking good Cons - odd staff member (elderly male) made bizarre and odd comments upon arriving and leaving (advice: just be pleasant); uncomfortable beds and pillows; thin walls and ceilings (heard everything)

Bed bugs!!! We found a bug in one of our rooms. Brought it to the attention of the night attendant and he totally blew us off! Said it was a baby roach. It was definitely a bed bug!!! We asked for a refund on the one room and we got offered $20 off!! Ridiculous! So disappointed in this hotel! Then we needed to wash our clothes in hot water to make sure there were no bed bug eggs, and I waited at the desk for the night attendants help with change for the washer. I saw he was taking a smoke break outside. He turned and saw me waiting and proceeded to move further around the corner of the building so I couldn't see him!! He just did not want to help us!!! Very very frustrating!!!!

I've stayed at this location probably 4-5 times in the last 3 years. I have never once had a smooth check in despite making a reservation every time. Check in has seemed like an extremely rare event that staff is not trained nor prepared for and has consistently taken 5-20 minutes. This is excluding time spent waiting in line, which will also be significant. Staff is always friendly. Edited: Our room keys were only programmed for 1 night instead of two, awarding me another trip down to the desk and wait. Check ins really must be a seldom occurrence given what a nightmare it is for the desk staff to tackle.

Great hotel. Clean. Awesome people! Very kind and sweet. Always willing to lend a ear and help. Great hot tub and great pool. Comfortable bed. Big bathroom. Awesome place!

Beautiful hotel. Large room. Comfortable beds. Unfortunately the staff need’s some people skills. At 9 am my wife went to get breakfast. They were out of many items and when my wife asked if the food would be restocked she got a curt “NO.” Why have a nice facility and then have poor customer relations?
