We are lucky to have a public utility providing our electricity. They actually want to help you spend less instead of more. And when I've been in hard times, LES worked with me. A private company has​to charge as much as they can, and they want to get more money out of you. The main efficiency public commissions offer is to pay people as little as possible, like Wal-Mart. All the complainers here should spend some time with Con-Ed or some of the other private providers, and they'd be thanking their lucky stars for LES.

Well the Asplundh crew are finishing up with tree trimming over the power lines on 2100 - 2200 block of South 37th Street. What a FANTASTIC job they did!! Just AMAZING how FAST and EFFICIENTLY they work!! Every potential threat to the power lines was eliminated no matter how high they needed to climb!! WONDERFUL job of cleaning up as well!!

I could never pay my bill, my account was lock for no reasons and could not login anymore, and I was charged for late fee all the time because of their problem. The Payee I set up suddenly now working anymore, I was charged for a different account number from the one I've been charged. There are all kinds of problems.

LES is one of the few utility companies where I get quick, competent service. Even if there’s an issue or error, they’re quick to address it and friendly in the process. I deal with them on a regular basis as part of my job and wish every company was this easy to work with. Their bills are also straightforward and easy to understand and obtain the information I need, which is another issue I run into with other companies (quite frequently, unfortunately). Thanks LES!

Someone in security takes their job way too seriously. I have an online account and once I year I am forced to reset my password. After finding my account number, I am then greeted by a screen asking me to answer all 3 of my security questions. ALL 3!!! Then the password I change it to can't be one I've used in the past and it has just about every requirement you can think of. Who in the world is trying to hack my LES bill??? Seriously! I was locked out of my account for over a month because I couldn't remember my security question answers and then was a month past due. This is so ridiculous. None of my banking, credit cards, stocks/investments, even my mortgage... none of them have this ridiculous amount of security. Paying your bill shouldn't be this much work.

I barely ever write review but LES is just terrible. My whole month electricity charge is about $25, city dividend and tax are another~$10, and here comes the Facility charge for $29.50 and the customer charge another $5. Like what the heck is that? I barely use anything. If you want to steal $, at least be reasonable lol. This is unbelievable.

The women representatives are completely cold and lack any sort of empathy. Its extremely disappointing that customer service isn't able to give an ETA of when their techs will be around to reconnect service. Every rep I've spoken to has given an empty apology and promises they are not able to speak to their techs. They have no dispatch... no form of communication. I really wish LES had some sort of competition. Maybe this would make them actually care about losing customers. It's amazing how quickly techs leave an area... and can't be sent back. But how offensively long it takes for them to come back. If possible I would give LES 0 stars.

Seems extremely greedy to charge $300 for service fees after turning someone’s power back on because they were behind. Making sure your customers never get out of dept with you and always owe you money. Money hungry company!!!

Their billing is just robbery. You can use less then 30 dollars in electricity and still have an 80 dollar bill from fees. Yet there customer service is awful. They charge all this money just to be a terrible company.

How often do you review the facilities charge? I think we are below the threshold of 800 kWh avg. per month to be a 1. It isn't much of a change, but $10+ a month does makes a difference. That is with tax, if you're worried about my math. Plus, if you figure in the facility's, taxes, customer and dividend charges I am paying more than 11.2 cents per kWh not the 9 cents you advertise. If I am the Customer and therefore owner of the Company, than why am I paying you the dividend? I am also looking for salary info for the elite eight. That should be common knowledge. Anyone home?
