Couldn't have asked for a better landscaping experience! Ryan, Abby and the crew far surpassed my expectations. They are knowledgeable, hardworking and clearly do amazing work. They communicated with me from start to finish and were always happy to answer my questions. I am SO pleased with my landscaping. Thank you, thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about Patera Landscaping. We hired them to do landscaping in our front and back yard, as well as a rock bed/drainage to fix an ongoing water issue. Jeff Patera was very responsive to all questions, proposals, and additions we had. He exceeded expectations in communication. I also have to commend his workers. I talked to Felipe on several occasions. He was always polite, accommodating, and extremely helpful answering questions/giving feedback. In fact, all the guys were friendly, worked hard and did a fantastic job. This was the second time we've used them, and will absolutely use them again for future projects. I cannot recommend them enough.

My initial experience with Patera was great. Ryan was very nice, personable, and communicated with me. As the manager of a cardiac unit at a hospital, I know how important communication is. 80% of the complaints received in the hospital ultimately happen because of a breakdown in communication. Therefore, being on the other side, I expected communication to continue to be a good as it was during our initial meetings. Unfortunately, things went south after the crew completed the project. I’ll never forget driving home from work the day I received the email that said, “Your project is completed!” I was estatic! Could not wait to get home to see the work that I didn’t have to bust my back doing. (Photos of the job are attached). From the sidewalk, the hostas were so small I could barely see them—and to think I paid $13 per hosta when I could’ve picked out my own that looked 10 times nicer then these for a better price. I eventually got over the microscopic hostas—they’ll grow. However, that tree. That HUGE tree. It was just planted and it is already that big. I could not live with that tree. Ryan came back on a Saturday and told me he would swap out the tree for a smaller one as he would generally put a tree with a 1-2inch base there, but thought I would be getting more bang for my buck with a 3-4 inch base. (Every neighbor I talked to said that tree was 1) way too big for that space, 2) appeared it was pushed up against another tree, because it was not round like new trees are, 3) it appeared to be leaning. I told him I would like a dwarf lilac tree (the pictures I googled were pretty, and the size appeared to be just right, at maturity). A week went by, and I hadn’t heard anything from anyone (COMMUNICATION), so I sent an email to Ryan inquiring about when the tree would be replaced. On Monday, I received an email from Abby saying that the tree would be replaced along with a couple other geraniums that never came out of their dormant phase. I asked Abby if I could get a price for the dwarf lilac tree, and she would not give me one because Ryan was waving the cost of removing the initial tree, the cost of restocking that tree, and the cost of the different tree. It makes me sick to know that the $400 tree that was planted in this space was replaced with a dwarf lilac tree that was a fraction of the cost (I am the client! If I want to know the price of the dwarf lilac tree, I should get to know!). At this point, I just wanted this experience to be over, so I simply asked that they send me a picture of the tree they intended to plant in this space because I wanted to be sure that I was really going to love it. Abby told me “Absolutely, we can do that.” Great! Fast forward another week without hearing a thing (COMMUNICATION) and here comes the Patera trucks to replace the tree. I now have a dwarf lilac tree shorter then me and held up with a stick in the space where a large tree once was. One extreme to the other it seems, with no in between to be found. And did I get the picture ahead of time that I asked for to make sure I was going to love the tree that they were bringing you ask?!?! Of course not! (COMMUNICATION) Do I absolutely hate it you ask?! YES! Am I now going to go to a store and pick out my own tree that will actually look decent in this space?! Sure am! I should also mention, when I was driving home from work that day, I was expecting a bed of rock along the west side of our house and around the air conditioner, the big boulder rocks that the prior owners used as a fire pit be incorporated into the landscape/removed, and a path from the gate to the driveway be made from the pavers that were in the fire pit. I was also expecting edging because that is what the initial/only picture I was shown included. Did I get any of this? No. Could I though? “Absolutely! I’d be happy to have Ryan send you a bid!” is the response I received. Had I known that I was paying over $4k for a fraction of the work I was expecting I NEVER would've chose Patera.

Patera Landscaping is hands down the best landscaping company I have ever worked with! Their professionalism and attention to detail is unmatched. Ryan worked with to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it and even came back to show me exactly where each light would go and how the projection would look. I couldn't decide on which flowers to plant in the front and he gave me countless options to choose from based on the sunlight I get. His team was also extremely professional and communicated with me what they were going to do! There is a reason Patera has such great reviews, I would recommend them to anyone!

Patera did the landscaping for our new home. From drafting drawings, coordination meetings, thorough communication, and scheduled install, Patera knocked it out of the park! Professional and detailed team. We’ll be hiring them again in the future for all of our new trees. 10/10

We had been wanting to add landscaping to our home for years, and after seeing their work knew we wanted to work with Patera. It was worth the wait, and we were not disappointed! They were extremely professional from start to finish. From our initial meeting with Jeff, to working with the office staff (Abby and Brianna - you're awesome!), to the crews that performed the work (Filipe rocks!) - everything was on-time, within budget, and exceeded expectations. The workmanship and work effort was apparent every step of the way and I don't feel any detail was neglected. I would highly recommend Patera to friends and family and am confident they would be as impressed as we are. Thanks Patera for a job well done!

Why someone would drive so rude and recklessly in a company vehicle just adds to their stupidity.

Patera was great to work with and did a fantastic job on our landscaping and patio! The designers were helpful in picking out colors and plants to meet our vision and Jose and his crew were on-time and efficient! It was the cleanest job site we could’ve hoped for and we look forward to working on more projects with Patera in the future!
