Genesis Health Clubs - Tara Plaza

Hours changed and no longer can use the gym. I work til 9 on Friday and Saturday nights and no longer can workout there after work. So glad I kept my membership during covid to try and help them keep going. Place was never clean but at least it was open 24 hrs. Had been going downhill fast after Genesis bought out 24 hour fitness.

I find this gym to be clean and the staff is very friendly. Every gym has some sort of fees and if you have been a member of a gym most of your life you would know this. However they always have great promotions to offset that. If you are serious about getting healthy and working out the staff here is great to help in anyway. They don't pressure you at all, they are doing their job and if you feel this way your not serious about getting healthy. Give them 5 stars all day.

Excellent facilities with plenty of equipment. There are also plenty of group classes to chose from if you’re looking to improve your health in a fun and friendly group environment. The class instructors are encouraging and fun.

I really enjoy this club, but it seems to falling apart some. Machines that break are not replaced, ie the rowing machine the scale, and he helix. Lockers are often locked open and lots of water damage on the ceiling in the group x room. Staff is very helpful and friendly, especially Dave in the mornings. I wish you opened earlier on the weekends. 6am would be very helpful .

I have used three other local locations and overall, I really enjoy using the Tara Plaza location because of proximity to where I live and because they do a great job of keeping the equipment in perfect working order. There a few items though that have been in disrepair for an extended time and need to be addressed. Two of the large sun screens on the west facing windows have been missing for over a year and need replaced. This causes that side of the facility to be much hotter in the afternoon when the sun is out. The shower curtains are ripped and being tied up in place. They look terrible and need replaced. There also seems to frequently be an issue with a lack of hot water in the men’s shower room. Again, the facility overall is great but those items need addressed. Thanks for running a great gym.

This is the best place to work out. I never felt the desire to be so involved in my gym before, ever in my life, my Trainer Elijah is a really great person, and actually helps me out and makes me want to push to levels I never thought possible at almost 52 years old. I recommend this business, but most of all the Tara Plaza location most of all, great people.

Needed to put my account on hold because of an injury and was upset because there was some miscommunication I had felt I was overcharged an extra month, but the club manager called me back and said he would credit the money to my account, along with some additional months of not being charged once I return. Was very surprised and thankful for his assistance.

Shovel the side walks! They are never shoveled until around 8:30AM and maybe even later. In the meantime the two gals at the desk are busy with the computer and smart phones, the trainers who are not training, are busy congregating and no maintenance personnel in site! Happens all the time, accident waiting to happen.

Never have towels, went today to use the sauna and they gave me a wash cloth to dry off with and said they will not have body towels for weeks. I cancelled my membership that day, 4th time this has happened

I've been a member here for a few months and have been lifting/into fitness for about 7 years. I have a few main complaints about this gym that I didn't realize before joining. The men's locker room? Wreaks. Certain spots smell worse than I can describe. Another issue is the lack of basic equipment and maintenance. There are not enough collars (device that holds plates on) for all the squat racks, let alone bench, prayer curl bars, trap bar, deadlift platforms. This is a safety issue I've brought up to management that has not been addressed. Also, several pads on the machines are worn out and make using the equipment near impossible. The classes seem fine and it's a decent beginner gym, but if you're at all an advanced lifter this gym is not worth it, especially for nearly $50/month.
