Midlands Lodge Hastings

I just recently stayed at this motel this past weekend for an Eagles state pool tournament. We have stayed at this motel in the past everytime we were in Hastings, my husband & crew also stayed there when they worked for Union Pacific Railroad system gangs. Rooms have always been clean, great personnel service, great rates. As usual every year when we learn of the city & dates of the following years tournament we book our rooms, get pricing & then impatiently wait til next year gets here. When I called this year to reconfirm my rooms making sure they still had our rooms reserved (we have lost rooms in the past due to clerical error) double checked room rates at which time the gentleman I spoke with reassured me the price was still $160 for 2 nights, 2 beds. I had gone on the website to locate phone number at which time I saw the advertisement of $49 per night. Ok I understand when events like this happen in any city motels/hotels raise rates, no surprise, but once I'm quoted a price it stays that price never before has it waivered til now, when we got ready to pay he quoted us $205 for 2 nights, when i challenged him on his previous quote his answer was we charge everyone that price. I told him that wasn't right & also his own website stated $49 per night he had no answer. I personally will never go back there, they cut costs everywhere we had only one light in the bathroom twin & a half beds, i could go on !! 30 some years of staying at this motel & this is my 1st complaint t

Absolutely the perfect hotel for the Hastings Area, great staff and a great quality room for a great price. With McDonald's right next door who could complain? The Lady in front is always caring and very helpful along the gentlemen as well. The maids are very considerate and pleasant. Thank you Midland Lodge! Keep up the great work!

Heavy stains throughout the room. Something died on the heating element in the heater. When turned on the smell made me turn it off immediately, but not before it set off the smoke detector. The street noise was as if the windows were open.

As many times that I had stayed there I never was told to pay a $200 deposit. I barely had $70 and they wanted $200 more for the 6 hours I could stay there. What a joke

The check-in process took about 20 minutes, it took another 40 to get a key that actually opened the door to the room, back and forth between the room and the office. Had the cleanliness of a place that charges by the hour. I genuinely considered eating the money spent and sleeping in the car. Would never stay again.

I stayed at this motel on a cross-country road trip for one night. I am glad I did not stay more than one night and almost decided to sleep in my car. The check in process was fine and the host accommodated a late arrival after 11PM, but the host didn't wear a mask during our interaction. However, the room was FILTHY. I don't think they cleaned the sheets because there was so much hair on the bed and I could tell the hair was from different people. The microwave and fridge were stained with dried food. I saw crumbs and dead bugs behind the bed frame and nightstand. Aesthetically, the room was so eerie. The outside area smelled like open sewage. I understand this isn't a Four Seasons or Marriott hotel, but I've stayed in other 1 star and 2 star motels during the road trip and this was by far the worst. Stay away!!

The price but it was still a little high for the quality of the hotel

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Very dirty. Manager is very rude. The housekeeper & a lady that lives there deals drugs & steals from rooms. The housekeeper let's the other lady in your room when you leave. I watched it in action.

Love Midlands some of the rooms could use carpet cleaning and a little more attention. But for the price completely awesome place!! Wish the pool was still open and wish that they still served breakfast. Other than that JB is always friendly and caring. Thanks Midlands!

Budget price and relatively clean and quiet. Full size fridge and microwave in room. Bathroom had 2 sinks.
