College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving

I have been moved twice by this company. The first time was perfect and professional. This was in 2021. My second move was a couple months ago and it was horrible. We moved the same amount of stuff into the same sized apartment. They charged me double what I was quoted and never responded when I said I was dissatisfied. When my move started they even commented on the fact that I was one of the most prepared moves they’ve had since all my belongings were packed in sealed boxes and all my furniture was predisassembled. One mover was more professional than the other. I even heard him tell the other mover “this is why they always put you on junk removal.” I don’t understand why I was charged for the incompetence of an employee that was too busy chit chatting and horsing around to get my move done in a timely and effective manner.

First of all the person that set up the appointment was very detailed and clear about how things worked. The two gentlemen that came to my house did an excellent job. They went above and beyond the call of duty to get my old fridge out of my kitchen and down to the basement, as well as working to get the new one in. They had to take the doors off to make it work and it was even a challenge then. Very nice, polite guys and hard workers.

The guys were friendly, knowledgeable,and efficient. They provided a great service and came in under the estimated cost. Definitely recommend to anyone who needs a mover.

I was scheduled for a donation pickup at 8:30 on a Thursday. We did have some snow come in but schools were on a 2 hour delay. I got a call at 7:00 am saying that they wouldn't be able to come at all because the driver couldn't get out of his driveway so they asked to reschedule for the next day. I said that it had to be a specific time not the usual 2 hour window because I had a fairly tight schedule for Friday. I was told that my requested time of 10:00 am would work and that I would get a call 30 minutes before or when they left the office. At 9:50 I hadn't heard from them so I called and was told that the other crew member wasn't there yet. I reminded them that I was on a tight schedule. A few minutes later I got a call saying I was on the schedule for 11:00. I said this was an error and that I had specifically requested 10:00. When they finally arrived at 10:30 I asked where they take the donations and was told that they would try to donate the items but that the bin on their truck was full of ice and snow so it might ruin the couch (which was in very good condition) and make it unsuitable for donation. I told them I had specifically requested donation pickup not junk removal. They just kept saying they would try to donate the items. If my son had not had to turn his keys in that day I would have called someone else.THIS COMPANY IS NOT AS ADVERTISED IN RELATION TO DONATION

They did an excellent job moving my stuff to a third floor walk-up. I’m impressed! And 45 minutes under the estimated time quoted to me. I can only say good things.

Kijana and Izzy were such incredible movers! They were professional, had clear communication, helped me get everything aassembled and handled everything with care. Honestly fantastic experience. They both deserve a raise!!! My only critique is that the scheduling department happened to double book my time with someone else. While I’m grateful that Kijana was so clear with his communication about time shifting, I wish the schedulers in administration would have been more careful. I’m giving 5/5 because of my positive experience with Kijana and Izzy. If I could go higher I would.

I had 2 movers today to help load my Uhaul. I live in a third floor apartment and these movers worked very quickly and efficiently! Very professional and courteous. Would definitely use again in any future moves!

I usually don’t write bad reviews but I have not received a solution to my concerns with the service i was given. I scheduled a move out for a 1 bedroom and they quoted me $149/hr which was great compared to the other moving companies I called. I really wanted the move out to be on the 22nd but the gentleman on the phone convinced me to let them do my move out since they perform the best service out of all the moving companies in Omaha so I settled for the 23rd when they were available. My problem isn’t with the movers because they were very kind and patient with me. I just had a concern with the amount I was charged. They recorded 4 hours of the service, even though their truck broke down for about half an hour. Even if it was 4 hours, $149x4=$596 minus the $149 they charge as a deposit. So I was expecting to pay $447. Once the mover brought up my final payment it came out to be $646. Two hundred dollars more than what I calculated. When I questioned the mover he said they charge for bags and tape they use or something along those lines. I was never made aware they charge for every bag they use or how much tape they use. I had my own bags and tape they could’ve used but I assumed it was apart of the move service since they charge all this money. I’ve been waiting for a call from a manager all day to get this problem resolved but I probably will have to wait until the holiday weekend is over. Super disappointed and makes me never want to hire movers again knowing they apparently have these hidden fees. Almost $800 for a 1 bedroom move out is ridiculous. ****UPDATE**** After getting a call from the manager, nothing was done. The owners comment to my review did nothing to “rectify” this situation. If you plan on hiring this company or apparently any moving company please know they will charge you for supplies even if it is laying around for them to use! This may seem petty but they charge $4 for tape and you don’t get to keep it! I highly do not recommend hiring this company. I was promised the best customer service but I unfortunately did not receive their “best.”

Excellent work by the young men who were there to rescue us today… On short notice they were here in a flash and emptied the apartment like it was a keg at a college party. They then hopped in the bat truck and cruised on over to the designated address of the items from our home. There they swiftly and skillfully executed the unload process of the truck and were able to do it without a sweat and they kept their capes clean at the same time. I would recommend that you call these guys when you are in need of movers or superheroes. 5 stars!!!!

College Hunks saved me from a tough situation after another company's crew walked off the job and stranded me on the same day my lease ended at my apartment. Thankfully I was able to extend my time there for two days and booked College Hunks to move me. I should have booked them from the start! Juan and his team did an absolutely fantastic job. They were super nice, hard-working and professional, and they knocked out the work in no time! The office was really easy to work with and accommodated the quick timeline that I needed. I couldn't be more grateful for the service and professionalism that I received on such short notice, and I will highly recommend them to anyone with an upcoming move!
