River City installed a new Trane XV80 furnace 12 years ago and have done the annual services since. I assumed I would be considered a good customer. However, the fan module went out a few days ago. The part is $400 +/- from several different sources (I suspect River City gets it even cheaper). River City wanted $1,200. Had another company do it for less and took just over an hour to do the work. So much for customer loyalty! Outrageous profit margin, especially during a time when so many people are struggling financially, in light of the current pandemic. No more River City for me!

I had an AC unit that needed to be installed. This was the only company in Omaha that would install a unit that was not purchased from them. As expected they did not warranty the unit but did warranty their labor. Jeff not only addressed the issue I wanted done but identified other areas that were not up to code. He worked with my and did not charge me for the things that were not needed. The installation techs were nice and pleasant to work with. Would recommend to family and friends.

We have been customers of River City Heating and Cooling in Omaha for 30+ years. We just completed the installation of a new AC system at our house. Brian & Alex were great to work with. The entire staff has been wonderful to work with throughout the years. Thanks River City for doing your job so well!!

We bought a heat pump years ago and were in need of a new air conditioner to replace the heat pump that was getting old and not working well. Jeff M. at River City was great to work with and helped us make the best decision for what we needed for our home. He was able to fit us into the schedule quickly and the installers were here on time and did a great job. They kept me updated of their progress and answered any questions I had. Even with some of the tweaking they had to do to our furnace, they were finished sooner than I thought.

I've been a customer of River City since 2008, including everything from basic maintenance to projects involving some major expenses (heat pump, major ductwork, etc.). I’ve stayed with them all these years and I’ve referred people to them because I've been very happy with their services – until now. They installed a new thermostat/humidistat this past October. With the subsequent onset of cold weather, the air became very uncomfortably dry. I spent a couple of weeks trying various humidistat settings, but the humidity in the house was always 21%-28% no matter how high or low I set it. I called River City about this and was told that I had to schedule a service call as they wouldn’t address this over the phone. The technician changed the humidifier filter (which he said wouldn’t help) and he politely told me that the furnace needs to run all the time for the humidity to change. That was that. I tried to explain that this had never been an issue in the 24 years that I’ve been in this house, but he kept repeating the same message. So in the end I was charged (and paid) $111.50 for a $20 filter and to be told that the only way to raise the humidity is to crank up the temperature so the furnace will run all the time – which sounds like bad advice that could have been delivered for free over the phone. I’m sad to say that it might be time to look around for a new HVAC company. This service call deserves 1 star, but I’m giving them 2 in honor of their former great service.

Sold me a 10+ year old model as "new" when it broke tech comments "hard to find parts for these old models" Techs are friendly and do ok work, but service calls on the "new" AC unit exceeded 2500 dollars before it was finally fixed by replacing the condenser. If you buy a new system, find out the year the equipment was manufactured before they install it, or you might get "new" (still factory sealed) equipment.

The team at River City Heating & Cooling is excellent. I replaced two A/C units over a 30 day period of time. The owner/manager offered to lend us a portable A/C unit until the equipment came in. The prices offered were the best in town. And after installation, follow-up visits and calls were made to our home to confirm quality delivery. The visits were unexpected and welcomed. Great service! I would recommend River City Heating & Cooling to anyone looking for a fair, reasonable, reputable and honest company.

Terrible customer service. Had 2 techs come out and look at my AC unit. They gave 2 different reasons for what the problem was. After the second one suggested I get a new unit due to the age of my AC unit, I agreed, but communication with Brad, the manager who would come out and provide a quote was terrible. It’s been about a month now, I still have not heard back from him, and decided to just take my business elsewhere.

I used River City Heating and Cooling to put in a new furnace and Air Conditioning in my house. Brad Goldenstein was very easy to work with and answered all my questions and concerns. I would recommend them to all of my family and friends from the great professional job I received.

River City Heating and cooling was easy to work with, quickly found what was causing my AC to not work, and fixed it very quickly with parts on hand and professional quality work. It was nice they had an office person available for scheduling on Saturday mornings and we were able to get it fixed by Monday. They were also extremely reasonably priced and we appreciated their service. Our technician was Tyler and he did outstanding work!
