Poppin' Smoke Southern Grill

As a member of the American Legion, it was a great choice to allow this establishment to move in. Really liked the food and how my family was treated with kindness. Will go back again.

Went here on the advice of my mom. The Nashville hot chicken was not hot, but I loved the sweet potato waffle fries. The tumbleweed appetizer is ok, but expensive for as little as you get.

When we left we walked out saying to each other how good the food was. Compared to the last three restaurants we have had meals that left us shaking our heads, we will recommend and for sure be back to PSSG. Staff is friendly as well.

Wonderful place, food was very good! The two waitresses that were working were trying so hard to keep everyone happy. They really worked hard. So i understand why i couldn't get my drinks refilled, but when i looked over at the food counter there were two girls standing around looking confused doing nothing! They should have had them out there refilling people's drinks! I hate seein one or 2 people working hard while others just stand around. Other than that, we will come back.

We stopped in for lunch & the food was delicious! I enjoyed the pizza burger & my husband had the steak burger. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely return!

Stopped in to check out rhis new place. Drove past it four times not realizing it's in the behind lower level of the American Legion hall. Was a little skeptical at this point. Ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and fries and lemme tell ya. They rocked it. Thin cut crispy chicken with custom breading was amazing. Fries are uniquely seasoned. Honey Sriracha BBW sauce was amazing. Overall, very comfortable environment with good people, good food and folks just trying to make you happy. I totally recommend this joint even if it is a little unusual in its Legion hall abode.

A unique hole in the wall establishment with great local roots and feeling. Good selection, menu, service. A bit more than I wanted to spend but wouldn't sacrifice quality for price. Had the chicken fried steak, was great. Will definitely go again.

Stopped in after a busy day.. couldn't decide what we wanted so we chose a couple different things.. Started with the fried pork rinds💜 and the lone star fried cheese👍👍.. now my all time favorite, grand daughter loved the fried cheese.. the chicken fried steak is amazing and you can chose if u want white or brown Gravy ( bonus) Roadrunner was the bomb too got mine in the Honey Siracha..service was awesome she was knowable and very friendly !! We will definitely be back very soon!!

As a Veteran, I am quite pleased to see the American Legion partner with such an exceptional group of individuals, service and quality of food. Top Shelf... AWESOME food and atmosphere. The service was over the top great and the food matched it. Their BBQ is best in town. I will be coming back again and again.

I expected more from this place. I ate at Tired Texan at least 20 times and every time I was satisfied. I bragged about how good their food was. I left them great reviews. I was pleased to hear the employees of Tired Texan are now working here at Poppin Smoke. After this visit I, and the person with me, consider them no better than an average restaurant with a mediocre cook. There are a few things that deserve them only two stars. On Saturday we both ordered the roadrunner with Nashville hot sauce and bacon. Do you see the bacon in the photo? They give you bacon crumbs! That's an insult to customers who are actually looking for bacon. Do you see the Nashville hot sauce? Neither did we. Look at both pieces of bread and you'll see barely a hint of anything. We pointed this out to our server and he said "We ran out of sauce while making your order and there's none left". This is mainly what prompted me to do this review. This place ran out of what we ordered and just left it as is. Yes you could taste it however there wasn't much of a flavor, just enough to say it's got some flavor. This was both of our sandwiches. The second deciding reason for this review is because of what I was charged for-a taste of their hot honey sauce. It was pretty good, basically honey with a hint of Tabasco in it. It was in a tiny little plastic cup about an inch in diameter with enough sauce to cover the bottom. I'm talking 1/8" of sauce. An American quarter would take up about as much space in this cup as that honey sample. I was shocked to see there was $1 charge for this when we got our bill. I mentioned it to our server and he said it's expensive stuff so they have to charge for it. I reminded him it wasn't a side of their sauce, it was just enough for a taste. He stood his ground. He was determined to win this 'I'll show you who runs this' conversation. I told him to get the manager. He came back with a new bill with the dollar charge removed. We still left him a 15% tip.
