Ika San Ramen & Izakaya

Very popular spot. Unique décor. Anime stories playing on the screens. The food is very good. The ramen bowls are filling. The small plate items were definitely small. While half the price of the full-portion items, they were probably less than a quarter in the quantity of food. The Yakitori was tasty and cooked perfectly. The fried chicken in the steamed buns were overcooked. The sauce on the steamed buns was very good. The ramen bowls were the best.

I cannot say enough good things about the fried Brussel Sprouts! Our waiter was so nice helped us pick out our dinner and suggested things for us to try. Really like the food overall.

Pretty solid ramen place but pricing is inconsistent with portion sizes. Some small dishes were expensive and big dishes were about the same price as a small dish. I thought taste was decent.

Fried calamari is the best I had, worth 5 stars. Tonkatsu is good if not too salty. Sho yo ramen is weird because it’s too salty and sweet at the same time. Chicken son is also too sweet.

The Fuego Ramen bowl was outstanding. One of the best I have ever had. Flavor was great, the buffalo chicken skin and charred chicken thighs in the ramen were perfectly cooked. My wife had the Spicy Miso and I think it might have been even better. The Gochujang Sausage in the Spicy Miso is something you have to experience. We also had the Kimchi tempura which I now want to eat everyday.

Delicious ramen, with excellent flavor. We got the shoyu ramen, delicious hearty flavor. The spicy Miso was also delicious, I will say that I believe they used gochujang as the spice for the spicy Miso, it was still delicious, but not Japanese and a slightly different flavor than I'd expected. The Tokyo chicken was also delicious, very hearty breading and flavor.

Great broth flavors and creative (non traditional) toppings. If i could just make one nitpicky complain, I do wish the sprouts were blanched & not raw and my slow cooked pork had more flavor. Everything else was pretty good, though I was kinda expecting a lot from the hype of this place.

Nice option if you are looking for a spacious izakaya offering ramen, sushi, rice bowls and appetizers. This is part of a local chain. Tonkatsu broth was fantastic at a 5 star, but the char Siu was a 3 star. It didn't have that fresh pork taste and had a slight after taste that wasn't appealing. The Fuego rounded out at a 4 star for me. The chicken skin was soggy by the time I tried it (it wasn't my meal, it was my friends). The chicken didn't have that much flavor, but the top was over cooked and I found it difficult to bite through. As it is located in the center part of shadow lake, there is technically tons of parking but you are kind of fighting with other businesses. Ika is located off to the side though and I believe the parking will be easier here than at other restaurants that are located in the center as it also happens to be at the edge instead of dead center. Service was professional where he explained everything, but his tone and eyes that never met mine made me feel like he didn't want to be there. I asked my dining companion who agreed it was slightly uncomfortable.

Oishī ! :) Only been here twice and both times was VERY satisfied with everything. Staff was amazing. They leave you to eat in piece but check on you every so often. Food is served as soon as it's finished so might not come out at once but that was fine for us. The ramen bowls are HUGE. We asked for two little empty bowls so we could share with our toddlers and they happily got them for us. The pulled pork buns are absolutely amazing. My toddlers ate SO much and if you have toddlers you know how picky they can be. 10/10 will be back again!

I know this is a ramen restaurant but if you haven’t tried the sushi you are missing out. The chef created custom daily specials and they are amazing! The shrimp nachos were fire! Fresh, flavorful and some of the best sushi in Omaha. Make sure you add it to your order!
