Great caregivers! Great atmosphere!

Great place, been taking my kid here for years.

Ive taken both of my hildren there for years Jen is like family to my wife and I would recommend to any one great atmosphere and teachers are very nice and knowledgeable.

I would never, EVER want my child attending this daycare. I have no idea what the facility is like, but I ran into their staff/children at the Papillion City Park. As someone who formerly worked in daycare for 8 years, and has been a public school teacher the past 7 years, I have NEVER seen children treated so poorly. My sister and I (who is also a teacher) were completely horrified. Just a few examples of what we observed in the short 15 minutes they were there at the same time: - SCREAMING at the top of their lungs for children to put their shoes on and “shut up” - Refusing to interact with children (aka sitting on the bench and yelling at them) - Grabbing a boy’s arm, yelling at him and yanking him away from swings as he cried - Yelling at a little girl for going near the swings It was overall a disturbing experience. As I was actually interacting with my niece and had the privilege of seeing this kids play before the staff members came and yelled at them, I can say not one child was doing anything wrong. Not that the staff’s behavior would ever be acceptable, but just blew my mind how sweet and well behaved these children were, yet were still being yelled at and treated so poorly. Out of the three adults I saw (two younger white girls and one older African American woman), not one was acting appropriately. I hope this reaches the manager/owner. More importantly, I hope this reaches the parents who entrust their children’s lives to these staff members. In particular, a little boy named Josh, a young African American boy, and a redheaded girl. They were treated particular terrible for no reason.

The one star I’ve given Cozy Lil Cottage are for my child’s teachers during his time there in the infant room. I felt comfortable leaving my child with Becky and Tasha. From our experience, they were knowledgeable and as a first time mom I sometimes found myself following their lead- for example in when to introduce different solids. However, after being sent home on a Friday afternoon with a moldy bottle they had been trying to feed my child out of, I could no longer in good conscience send my child here. The level of negligence on their part was absolutely disgusting. While we did receive an apology from the director, not once did his teachers acknowledge or apologize for their mistake- a disappointment to say the least. Also in relation to the cleanliness of the center- once our son started walking, he was coming home with very dirty feet from the carpet (there is a lot of traffic through the baby room and they do not require the removal of shoes). If all you’re looking for is a couple of (mostly) competent individuals to hang with your kiddos all day, this might be the place for you. However, if you don’t want to question the cleanliness of your child’s environment and would like them to take part in outside play time and regular art activities, this probably isn’t the place to send your child.
