Champion Sport Karate

We enjoy the people at CSK so much. They are always kind and interested in doing what's best for my kids. I am thankful for the opportunity our kids have at this facility.

I do not recommend this company. We paid for trial memberships over the summer and I was not happy at all. I am a martial artist and wanted to continue my martial arts at this location due to being close to me. To begin with, I travel sometimes, so I let the owners know that I usually put multiple email addresses in my communications so I can read them from anywhere. There were quite a few times I emailed one of the owners from work and put my personal email address on it so that I could keep the dialogue going outside of work. I could never get her to respond to my other email addresses, so there were multiple times when I would ask a question about the business from work, leave for a week and not get any answers from her, just to come back and find an answer sent back to one original address. Another time, I asked an important question about how they would handle my family engaging in multiple martial arts disciplines (discounts offered, etc.) and specifically told here that I need to her to answer back on my personal address because I would not be at work again for several days. She still refused to respond to all parties on the email. So, what started as two or three emails needing an answer over two or three days, turned into weeks. Communication is a big deal for me, so while they may or may not run a good business, an owner who will not communicate with her customers is a showstopper for me. My daughter decided she didn’t want to continue her martial arts studies there due to them having hard floors. That took me by surprise as well. I have never seen a studio where people engage in sparring on hard floors, but after a few weeks on those floors it just became too much. Ultimately her homework was a big issue, but I believe she would have looked past that had they used mats in their gym. I then decided I wasn’t going to go there either due to the poor communication problems I was having. I cannot do business with somebody if they won’t talk to me. My wife is the only one who decided to stay with them. What really did it for me is how the owner handled this. My membership was going to be full price, my daughter was 10% discounted, and my wife 20%. When I announced that my daughter and I were not going to be attending after the trial, the owner responded by saying “Okay, I will charge your wife full price then”. She didn’t have any care or concern about why two of her trial customers would not come back. Charging my wife full price his seems like a pretty honest answer, but completely wrong for a business owner. Being a business owner myself, I took this very personally. I would go out of my way if a customer came back and said they didn’t like my company. Even if I can’t get them back, I would at least want to know how to learn from the experience and even make things right with them to prevent future events. I do want to make one very important note in this review. For anybody considering this company, I urge them to listen to this. There is another owner/instructor in that Champion Sport Karate building who teaches Hapkido. His name is Emery and he was absolutely fantastic. He is honest, caring, considerate, and really takes pride in working with each person individually so that everybody can get a great experience. If he were teaching in his own building under his own business name, I would highly recommend him. I am not sure what the exact relationship is, but I believe he subcontracts to the Champion Sport business. But please take that with a grain of salt because I don’t know for sure. Overall, the biggest problem for me started as a lack of willingness to communicate with me when I was asking questions. But, what ultimately did it for me was the cold responses and lack of concern for lost business instead of trying to fix a problem and bring people back together with them. The male owner was very nice to us, but generally would not respond to emails he was on. The lady would respond but only on one email address and didn’t show much care or concern for questions or personal concerns. Very sad.

I HIGHLY recommend this business...My son has been in the Taekwondo program for the past 6 years. The owners are actively involved in instruction of students and know each by name. While we no longer utilize the after school program, it was a lifesaver for me, as a single parent. If you're looking for a family friendly environment provided by stand up people you will not be disappointed with CSK.

We've been coming here for a year, usually for open bounce with the associated company Jumpin' Jax. A few months ago a member of my family started training in martial arts with them. I have to say that the whole team at Champion Sport Karate is just awesome. Mike and Nicole are just good people and great with kids (young and old) and they love sharing their craft.

We have been going to CSK for 7 years and have loved every minute of it. My daughter takes taekwondo classes and has found “her people” in these classes. She LOVES to go to class 3-4 days a week to learn and to be with her friends. She has gained valuable skills over her years at CSK. She is a fighter, she has learned the value of never quitting even when things are hard, to respect others, and the importance of helping other achieve goals even they didn’t know they could....just to name a few. Her experiences at CSK have helped mold her into the amazing woman she is becoming. I have taken the adult fitness kickboxing and yoga classes for 7 years at CSK!!! I love working out with friends, the sense of belonging, and the way we push each other to be our best during each class!!! I am so happy we joined the CSK family and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, challenging, and supportive environment for themselves or for their child!!!
