Belfor performed a significant siding replacement and window casing repair for our home that was caused by hail damage. They were a direct contractor and estimator for Nationwide. The assessment and remediation work was spot on. The quality of work performed by Belfor’s sub contractors was outstanding with painstaking detail and follow through. Belfor’s project manager was exceptional and juggled the product selection, weather and scheduling. We got it done on time and on budget. The result is an exterior of a home that truly looks better than when it was purchased new in 1999!

We came home to a main water line break in to our house. We called our utility company who had 3 other emergencies. We call 4 plumbers before we could get someone to come and turn the water off. At this point we are frustrated and the entire basement is full of water. Called Belfor and with in 45 min had staff on hand, problem solving and drying everything out. The interactions with their management and staff was very positive and they were very responsive to me and in their dealings with our insurance company. I would recommend them to anyone who found themselves needing a trustworthy restoration partner.

They were polite and professional. They worked through some bad weather, too. I had a second issue where my water shutoff in the home started leaking after they had ripped tile up around it. There is no way of telling if they somehow bumped it with their equipment or if it had gone bad over time. I was pretty upset, as my insurance became reluctant to cover damage in the basement, despite the fact the shutoff had only just started to leak. After talking with Belfor employees and management, one of the employees had noticed water on the main, apparently touched it or did something with it, decided it was a slow leak, and reported the leak to their office. But even though I stood in the room multiple times with them, none had mentioned to me. The leak had increased by morning, when the adjuster came. I managed to get the issues ironed out. Overall, I'm impressed with the company. They were quick to get out here, everyone was friendly even when I was upset over the new leak, and I think they honestly cared. But a business is a business and they have to cover their ends, too. I would have given 5 stars had either the employee reported the leak to me or my mother when we were right there, or if they had been willing to pay the service call for a plumber to look at it and determine the problem since one of their guys did say he noticed it, touched it, and then didn't tell us. Even if I had to ultimately pay the repairs. Mistakes happen, though, and I would still recommend the company to others based on professionalism and promptness alone. They tackled the original issue from every angle, and after having to remove some ceiling they made the room absolutely spotless.

Belfor coordinated water damage repair and painting in seven rooms of our house. Ilanna was very professional and knowledgeable, was in constant contact with us and the workers, and followed up after the work was done to ensure we were completely satisfied.

Our newly purchased home suffered water damage from the historic July 2021 storm. With the hurricane like wind speeds our basement windows took a direct hit to the wind driven rain and they didn't stand a chance. We called our insurance the morning after the storm and within a few hours of that phone call, Ilanna called and said she could head out our way within the hour to take a look at everything. She was super knowledgeable and very patient with us as she explained the mitigation process. On the same day of this meeting, Belfor sent out someone to begin mitigation. Within 24 hours of the storm, and 8 hours of our call to our insurance company, we had carpet pads removed, vinyl flooring removed, fans and a dehumidifier placed in our basement. Someone from the company came almost daily to take pictures and moisture readings. Everyone that visited our home was super friendly and extremely professional. They provided updates on how the drying process was going and explained the next steps when an area around our windows wasn't drying despite their efforts. Belfor even had a gentleman come out to take a look at our windows due to a delay in available insurance adjusters when another storm was forecasted and we were concerned about more damage. While this company was recommended/hired for mitigation through our insurance company, we have the option of choosing whatever company we want for the restoration. Given how wonderful Belfour has been to us and their upstanding service, we have chosen to continue the restoration process with them. It took over a week for an adjuster from our insurance to come out. By that time, almost everything was dry and the cause of the damage was less apparent. We have no doubt that without the support and documentation from this company, our insurance company would have been more difficult with us on processing this claim. I cannot speak more highly of this company. They go above and beyond which is hard to find nowadays and despite the influx of mitigation/restoration services needed around the area due to this storm, we have never felt like just another number.

If we could give zero stars, we would certainly consider it in light of the overall experience. We really don't have too much angst against the subcontractors so the one star is primarily given for their work because it is just one critical piece of the restoration process. The plumber, cabinet installer, flooring and electrical subs did great work but the drywallers and painters were very inconsistent and no shows throughout, which dragged out the entire process. The general contractor delivered some of the worst responsiveness and customer service that we have experienced for most of our lives. (particularly Brent although several other contacts other than Becca also exhibited poor responsiveness ) We had to always follow-up on unanswered emails and calls several times including even having to pay unannounced visits to their office just to get simple answers and timeline information. We were constantly "lied" to about timelines and expectations. Not misrepresented or misunderstood but actually "lied" to. The restoration process took nearly 6 months and should have taken only about 3 months at best or even 4 months given the difficulty in them finding enough workers. Oftentimes throughout, crews did not show up for days or even weeks at a time and we were always deceived and lied to even after guarantees. We even had to finally do some of the work ourselves (including cleanup in multiple areas) because of frequent promises that went unfulfilled. This resulted in a credit of several thousand dollars that still remains unpaid to us even though we endorsed the insurance check for them to get paid. We escalated our concerns to the regional manager but the poor customer service and lack of response continued despite his promises as well. The unnecessary and avoidable delays resulted in lost income for the rental property and ultimately the disposition of having to sell the place as the tenants could no longer bear the the ongoing displacement. I rarely write reviews unless asked to and have never felt so compelled to write a negative review as I just usually let it go but in this instance I feel it is warranted due to the numerous if not consistent exhibition of very poor customer service, deception and absence of effort to remedy the situation unless we took extraordinary measures just to get answers or a response. If you are someone who appreciates and expects good customer service and at least minimal communication then I would look elsewhere. This company's behaviors and the extended timeline caused by their lack of effort or commitment has negatively impacted our lives and cost us a lot of money out of our own pocket. If your insurance company recommends them, I would think twice about it and look for a different restoration company. Quite possibly the worst we have ever seen. :(

I had an urgent water damage issue, was recommended Joe at Belford from a neighbor. We called and Joe came out right away that same morning. Joe was very prompt and professional and handled our main concerns that same day keeping in mind we have small children and a dog. Joe answered our questions or got us in touch with others as needed. Highly recommend using this company and Joe for water mitigation. The stress was truly lifted from our shoulders.

We were very pleased with the rapid reply to our water damage cleanup and repair. They returned to redo an area that was not to our liking and Iliana completed all the paperwork with our insurance company. The crew were all helpful and courteous to us. It was a job well done. Thank you to all the crew.

If I could give these guys zero stars I would. While the “adjuster” came out real quick and got everything signed, it took forever for the contractors to actually come out and repair our roof, backyard fence and do a small indoor paint job. I probably had to call on 3 separate occasions, leave a message for the higher ups, to have someone come out and do our repair work. If the job isn’t something industrial/commercial level, I don’t think these guys really care. Not to mention, the repaired part of our fence has broken at least 2 times since it was “repaired”. The contractors response? “It’s just an old fence”. Stay away from this business!

Unfortunately had a pipe burst recently and my insurance company contacted Belfor to assist with water mitigation and demolition. Everyone we worked with were extremely helpful and responsive. The coordinator for the work, Ilanna, made sure all the paperwork was ready and handled all the details with my insurance company. Joe, who did the majority of water mitigation and the demolition was extremely professional, kept the work area clean as possible, and regularly updated us on the status of the project. The positive experience made it easy to choose Belfor to complete the reconstruction project as well.
