Abelardo's Mexican Fresh

This is my first visit to Abelardos. Late night dinner and I didn't want fast food. I got to admit, I thought it would be just as bad as the other mexican place that is open 24hrs. I was very sceptical. I read all the reviews. The hard shell tacos are big. Not mostly lettuce, like most places. I couldn't believe how good it was! Different than I'm used to, but I couldn't stop eating it, not even to let my son try some! Also had a beef enchilada. I'm not familiar with what "authentic" is, but I'm not a fan of the enchilada sauce. Very bold, is the only way I can think of to explain it. We came back 2 weeks later to try a burrito. I was a bit surprised that it cost $8. But it was extremely big. My son (12yrs old) and I actually weighed it. It was 1 pound! Stuffed with ground beef and a little bit of beans and cheese. It was definitely a lot to eat for the 2 of us. I probably won't get it again though. I prefer a variety of flavors. At least in a hard shell taco, you have more of the cheese and lettuce to add to the beef.

The quality of the food really shines with dine-in. It travels ok, and I always thought of this as an ok place. I decided to have it fresh via dinning-in and we are surprisingly solid. Don't get me confused though, it still is what it is... But it is a nice change of pace sometimes.

I've never eaten anything bad from this place.. The reason for the 3 stars is because my burrito was ice cold in the middle. I didn't have time to go back I had to get to work. I just wanted something good to eat. Ended up having to throw it away.. No place to heat it up and no refrigerator to keep it from going bad.

I came on Tuesday night for the 5 for 5 chicken or beef tacos!!! Hands down one of the best deals going! I also had a coupon for a smothered burrito chicken or beef! I got one of each and I think I may have found a new favorite dish+

We have been to Abelardos before and we like it. HOWEVER, this location is far superior. It was so fresh, so tasty and the portions were huge. The staff was super friendly and fast, it was all a great experience. I ordered 1/2 super fries with Steak on the side. It's enough for 2 people, maybe 3.. it seemed pricey when I ordered it ($10) but when I saw how much food it was its actually very cheap. And might I reiterate, it's ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. We will make the drive to this location from here on out.

Love this chain — this was a great place. The inside is beautiful. Employees were very nice and food was great as always.

We did a huge order of churros (different filling options of raspberry, Bavarian cream or apple cinnamon). They are much better fresh then delivery/take out but really hood flavors and a nice crunch!

This review is for the 72nd & Giles in Papillion location only. We love this location! The place is cute and very clean; the people are so very friendly and accommodating; the service is speedy as well as accurate; wide menu choices offered; the food is fresh, super flavorful with huge (I mean huge) portions and the prices really cannot be beat! The photos are 1 of the Super Fries with the chicken on the side (think fully loaded nachos but made with fries) and 2 of the Smothered chicken burrito (minus about 3 mouthful).

It turned out that not all Abelardo’s are the same. This location is killing it. Consistent quality of service and food. As a bonus, it has more meat options for tacos. They always get my order right. Let’s start with the Adobadas. Huge tacos with marinated pork and topped with guacamole. The meat is tender, slight char and moist thanks to having a good mix of fat to lean meat ratio. Their tripes tacos are even better than the ones I’ve tried in California and missed so much. Soft corn for tills with flat top grilled crunchy tripes. They are like crispy uncured bacon bits but with beefy flavor. Tacos de cabeza, super tender meat with full beefy flavor. The fat is like butter that soaks into the tortilla. If you are not that adventurous, give the queso taco a try. It’s golden birria tacos with cheese and the broth where the meat was slow cooked is provided as a side door dipping. I’ve been driving 10 miles to this location even though the Bellevue location is closer to where I work. I wish I had taken pics of the other location to compare. It’s day and nigh difference. The portions, the cut of meat, availability of items and service are very different despite being under the same name.

Abelardo‘s is a fantastic place to get breakfast. I always get a chorizo and egg burrito. The burrito is always hearty and humongous. It’s made fresh to order so it always comes out steaming warm. The flavors of the burrito like an explosion of flavor once it makes contact with your taste buds. The service is always prompt and the staff is always friendly. The prices are competitive and for the amount that you get most of the time there’s always leftovers for a later snack or meal. The facilities always kept up really well. It’s always clean and I’ve yet to see any trash debris on tables. Today I went through the drive-through and the service was fantastic.
