We went to the TF on Saturday and the food was disappointing. We stood at the hostess counter for 10 minutes before being greeted even as waitresses were going in and out to clear outside tables. The first cocktail we ordered had to be returned to the bar for a hair in it. We read a review that the fried pickles were good, but sadly they were not. Not sure what the hype is on those. My wife ordered the chicken strawberry salad. The salad was drenched in vinaigrette and the grilled chicken was very dry. I think she barely ate 1/3 of it. My French dip sandwich could be equated to a sandwich you get in the hospital when you are on a bland no sodium diet. This was $70 not well spent. Not sure how this place gets good reviews.

I used to love this place but I'm not wild about it anymore. Last week we were there, my wife ordered a club sandwich that had the tiniest amount of meat that I've ever seen on a club sandwich. My food was good, but mostly it's my wife's mood sets the standard when we're eating out. Honestly, she's not one to complain, but there were two or three bites in the middle of the sandwich that had meat. The rest of the bread lay on the plate like some sort of fallen monument. Anyhow, our waiter was alright and the atmosphere is cool. Food is hit n miss.

Top 10% Omaha Reviewer. Follow me on here or Instagram @markthisplacedown for more reviews. WHAT I ORDERED Brussel Sprouts (Parmesan, prosciutto, garlic, onions, lemon, chili flakes) as a starter and Truffle Chicken Pistou (Grilled chicken breast, roasted garlic risotto, pan charred brussel sprouts, truffle parmesan pistou) as my entree. Moscow Mule and Whiskey Twistler to drink. The Brussels had a mild flavor and cooked nicely. They had a slight crunch to them and the portion was big enough to share with at least 2-3 people. The Truffle Chicken was also a little milder in the flavor department and had a good “earthy” taste. The chicken came in a few pieces and was very tender. It came with brussels but at that point I was pretty “bruxxed out”. Both of the cocktails were delicious. Some places can tend to make a Mule too strong but theirs was great. MENU There’s a nice selection of starters, salads, sandwiches, entrees, desert, and kids meals. Since this is a grill and saloon the food is midwestern and cowboy-inspired. For a full menu visit twistedforksaloon.com/ VISITING CONDITIONS I got here around 7pm on a Saturday night. The place was full and lively. Plenty of seating at the bar so that’s were I ended up. The food probably took about 30+ mins to come out but it was expected with the capacity and I didn’t mind since I was just trying to enjoy a nice night out. ESTABLISHMENT The decor is saloon and western inspired. The dining areas are well-lit and there are TVs around for those who wants to follow sporting events. There are maybe 20 or so tables for groups and maybe 14 seats around the bar. STAFF There’s a host that greets and seats you right by the door. Bartender is extremely friendly and conversational. Overall the staff seems enjoyable. PRICING I will start off by pointing out that the drink prices are excellent for being in a downtown restaurant. The cocktails were around $7 and the food is pretty on-pair with what you expect to pay downtown ranging from $13-35 for an entree and apps are around $7-10. LOCATION 1014 Howard St Omaha, NE 68102 If you like classic midwestern food and cheap cocktails you can definitely MARK THIS PLACE DOWN as a must try!

Great appetizers and drinks for happy hour, although we almost didn't get them. We were seated outside with menus and waited over 15 minutes with no service. The waitress who brought food and checks to other tables didn't acknowledge us after we gave her the first ten minutes to "be busy" and then tried to flag her down. After going in and asking the hostess for a glass of water, we moved to the bar. Thankfully, that resulted in great service.

First time in Omaha and wanted to try out areas close to our hotel (embassy suites). After walking a short distance from the hotel we found Twisted Fork. There was a wait for tables so we opted to sit at the bar. Zach was the bartender tonight and although he was quite busy with server orders, he managed to also keep up with a busy bar. Zach recommended the brussel sprouts and mushroom scampi and helped us narrow down our beer choices to some local brews. The food was delicious! My husband even remarked that he didn’t think he had ever eaten a brussel sprout before but if they are always made this way he would eat them more often!! This place should be on your radar if you’ve never been to Omaha before. Great for couples, singles, and small groups!

Craft cocktails and unique eats! Service is fantastic from entry to departure. Came in for happy hour… $5 cocktails, $4 house wine, $4 beer and variety of appetizers.

The Twisted Fork is an excellent restaurant in the The Old Market. The atmosphere is awesome. The employees are friendly and attentive but not annoying. The restrooms are small but clean. The food is amazing. The french fries are so good. They have a great coating and they cooked them extra crispy for us. The sweet potato fries are also really good. This is a restaurant that you will not leave disappointed.

First time eating here and it was delicious! My husband got the wings and they were perfect! Nice big drummies! I got the Bacon Lettuce Bacon Tomato Bacon sandwich... Yes you read that correctly! It was huge! The bacon was cooked absolutely perfectly. Chewy middle, and fried crunchy edges on every piece! I'm not kidding!! Like, how do you even cook it like that?! Great service too. Drinks were refilled without asking which is always and plus in my opinion! The homemade fries were so good!! Thick and cooked right! Definitely a great place to eat in the old market!!

My mother and I visited here for happy hour, and it was awesome! The portion sizes are HUGE for the price of five dollars. We ordered one of everything from the happy hour menu aside from the nachos, and everything was delicious. The street tacos were definitely the star of the show, absolutely loaded with chicken! $5 is a steal for this food! Our waitress Andrea was delightful, and considering the sheer amount of food we ordered, the service was super quick! 5/5

Great atmosphere. We tried the fried pickle appetizer - pickle spears came out VERY hot! I should have used my knife to cut a bite. We both enjoyed their signature Buttermilk Chicken Salad. Large servings and delicious. Service was perfect.
