Suburban Home Movers

I had set up an appointment for Dukhan and crew to help me move at 8 am. They didn’t show up on time. Trying to get them to answer questions after I had set up the appointment on the day of the move was almost like herding cats. I will not look at using Suburban Home Movers again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not go with this “company.” I found this company through Groupon. Called to make sure my moving date was available. Business owner said the Groupon was no longer valid, though it was and STILL IS on Groupon available for purchase. My gut feeling was to move on but the “business” owner offered me a decent rate so I paid a deposit of $160 through the cash app to lock in my moving date. I should’ve gone with my gut AND you get what you pay for. The day of, the business owner calls me to tell me he doesn’t have movers that day as he and another mover was sick. I gave him til noon to find a replacement and if not we’d reschedule. I heard nothing from him. I had to call at noon, there was no follow up, to reschedule for that following Friday. No problem, people get sick, it happens. I made clear that if there were any issues I’d ask for a refund. Friday comes and it’s bad weather. No cancellation call, nothing. My appointment time came and went. I texted the “business owner” for a refund. I followed up. No refund. I tried calling today and I am pretty sure he blocked my number. I have been nothing but civil and professional the entire time. I even waited to leave this review but now I know I won’t be getting my money back there’s no point. This person stole $160 from me. Fool me twice, shame on me. I’ll be reporting to the BBB if this is actually an incorporated business, which I doubt. Feels like a scam.

My boyfriend and I called them the night before and they were willing to move us for a price better than anyone else! They protected everything, were very careful and nothing was scraped or broken once they were done moving everything (which they did very quickly, by the way)! We were impressed and would hire them again!

Suburban Home Movers did a really nice job - very friendly, professional and efficient.  We needed help unloading and the crew of 3 men helped us unload our 26' truck in great time.  I thought that one especially notable feature of this company is that the SHM team didn't start the clock until they were on property and had taken the time to talk with us about what the unloading process would be.  We looked at a few moving companies at our previous address in Missouri about getting help with loading and learned that many companies will charge for travel time to and from their business, resulting in additional charges. If we find that we need to move again from our location in Omaha, we would definitely hire professionals from SHM again.

I got a hold of Dukhan last night in a panic to find last minute movers. He and another man (I can't remember his name) came this morning and made a huge difference. They were exceptionally careful with our stuff (our last movers had broken part of a family-heirloom China cabinet) and got it done quickly. It helped that they had been really kind too, overall great experience with this company.

I called these guys after finding an amazing deal on Groupon. It was last minute on a Saturday evening, and they showed up with an hours notice. They were very attentive to detail and were sure to let me know of any damage prior to moving my furniture. They were quick, careful, friendly and thorough. Would definitely recommend!

We had damage to our stand up freezer, crib and our headboard. My husband was able to fix the headboard and we told the owner we would be fine with just a crib replacement. We are a foster home and our crib no longer meets the requirements to pass our home study. We moved on December 16th. I notified the owner on the 17th and he has not been very good with communication. He ignores my messages and keeps telling me he has sent it to his insurance. I feel we are getting the run around. I had to postpone our adoption home study because of this. He promised he'd take care of it and here I am almost 3 weeks later and still no resolution.

My sister contacted them the night before, and they moved my mom’s things from the home the next morning. They were very careful with the furniture. Polite, friendly and professional. My son will be moving to an apartment in a couple of months, and we are definitely going to use them. Best rates in town too!

These guys are great! Professional, courteous, and outstanding I will definitely will be calling them in the future the next time I move. My friend who is the pickiest person I know loved them which she is hard to please she is even going to give them a call when she moves. They truly made a stressful move into a happy one for me. The price was so reasonable I even gave them extra as I do have alot of belongings. They arrived when they said they would. I am ever so grateful for their help and I would truly recommend them to anyone over the other well known movers in town. They made me feel like a person and not just a job they were doing. Thank you guys for your help! You get an A+ from me!

If i could give 0 stars i would. I hired this company to move my one bedroom apartment in midtown Omaha to west Omaha. They were supposed to arrive on Saturday between 1-2. They communicated to me they were running late. They finished the first job around 6pm & offered to come, I told them they could wait until Sunday, I was fine with that. They arrived on time with a full size UHAUL. I signed a basic form that didn’t have the company logo, I was asked upfront if I’d be paying cash, which I thought was odd— most all small businesses have The Square. They loaded my belongings and drove them to my new apartment. It took over an hour for them to drive from midtown to west Omaha, when they arrived I could smell marijuana. They unloaded my belongings, the total move took 7 hours. Granted my old apartment and new apartment are both 3rd floors, this cost me $700— for a one bedroom. I contacted the owner after thinking more about the situation. I lost my entire Saturday afternoon waiting, I asked to be compensated for my time. Dukhan told me he did compensate me by not charging me taxes or a “heavy move charge”. **** Steer clear. ****
