They wont let you be in the union if you arnt an apprentice even if you're in college they want you to drop out but even if you take a job through them and dont do the apprenticeship they will still take dues 40 weekly and not let you in the union.

Jacob N. , why would two of the highest tech. companies in the world hire Local 22 to build their data centers if they were like you described. Because they trust Local 22 and the IBEW! I worked as a local 22 electrician for 25 yrs. Best thing I ever did. I'm retired at 63 and living very comfortably, thanks to a great pension program. I'd take a bullet for every single person I've worked with at local 22! You sir are wrong, plain and simple!

Omaha residents please read! Call your local IBEW (Local 22) and ask them why they are blocking community members for questioning the way they treat their apprentices. I am not the only one saying these things and I'm not the only one being blocked or having my comments deleted. Local 22 does not want to take accountability for bullying a man after he has tragically taken his own life. The business manager of Local 22 should personally own up to how he spoke to Damian and Local 22 should do something about their union's representative acting like a bully towards the apprentice labor they supposedly want more of. Unfortunately, this is the union and the actions you are supporting when you hire union electricians in Omaha NE.

Still my favorite Local to catch a call. Yes, I could make more money elsewhere, but I won't get treated as well by the hall and Local Brothers and Sisters as I do in Twenty-two. Also, the best Union meetings.
