Merricks Ranch House

We were passing through the state and I looked up on google the top 10 restaurants in the area. Merricks came up. We decided to take the 2 mile drive from the highway to check it out. I'm glad we did. They made our food exactly as order, the rates were great. Service was not what I had expected based upon the other reviewers but it was good. Our server had a brace on her leg and you could tell she was in pain. I contributed it to that. As we traveled east through the next 3 states, my husband did nothing but talk about how good was his meal. That says a lot.

I had just a ribeye...to start with and it was so good that I ended up ordering a sirloin just so I could experience both. It’s one of the best meals I’ve ever had and I eat a LOT of steak. You’re doing yourself a HUGE disservice by not eating here if you have the opportunity. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, locally sourced beef that’s hand cut. 10/10!

Good old school diner stop. Had the homemade hot beef sandwich and the beef veg soup, both were tasty. The soup had fresh vegetables in it, which you don’t always find.

You haven't been to North Platte until you have eaten at Merricks. Lots of history, friendly staff and good eating.

The waitresses are so nice and the service is quick. The food is so bland and seems to be straight out of cheap cans. Also for a family diner they should really consider adding changing tables. I understand it’s an old diner but some updating is desperate needed.

Absolutely loved the food. Old fashioned comfort food. I had the hot beef sandwich. Kids menu really good too. Great portions. Great value. Great service.

Our food and service were amazing. They were very busy but we were never forgotten about. We sat down with a group of 14 people on Sunday. My family of five ordered the Sampler with three different appetizers on it. They were so good. Then I ordered the chicken tender basket with two sides. I got a side salad and mashed potatoes with it as my sides. Our waitress was on top of everything and prompt. I highly recommend Merricks.

Popped in her for a bite to eat after the highway was closed I had a good meal I was very inexpensive. Being from California it's not hard to find a cheap meal outside of that state but this place has good portions at low prices. The staff treats you like family. The service was better than most give star restaurants I've been in.

It was... OK. The cheese curds were perfect but the main dishes were meh. Chicken fingers were huge... but no sauce. Hot beef was good but mine had some cold spots so it was definitely reheated. The price was amazing and we didn't leave hungry but next time through we would look for something new. This could be so good but just miss the mark trying to keep prices down I think.
