The employees here really do care about our loved ones. Some of the most compassionate individuals are employed at Linden Court, and they are truly proud to be changing the face of long term health care.

I feel linden court is a good nursing home

Such a heartbreaking experience at the end of my mother's life.  For the most part, she received very good care at Linden Court but after she had an acute heart attack and Great Plains Hospital told me that she was dying, no one recommended hospice until it was too late and Dr. Gosnell and Linden Court kept telling me that they didn't even know if my mother was dying (contrary to what two doctors had told me at the hospital). The communication between Dr. Gosnell, Linden Court and myself was very confusing and my mother suffered more as a result.  To make matters worse, I was very sick with Covid and live over 1200 miles away.  I spoke to Great Plains Hospice after the fact and there's no doubt in my mind that they could have bridged the communication gap so Mom would not have suffered due to all the confusion.  Had all the doctors and Linden Court agreed about her condition, and had messages been relayed correctly, there would have been no confusion. My daughter (who is a healthcare professional) overheard the conversation I had with Dr. Gosnell about removing Mom's oxygen.  I asked that her oxygen be removed because Mom did not want any life-sustaining measures, I did not want to prolong her suffering, and I was under the impression that this would not cause her any distress. However, as my daughter clearly recalls, I qualified this by saying that if Mom showed any signs of distress or discomfort to put the oxygen back on. Two nurses told me that Mom was resting comfortably but as time went on I discovered that either Dr. Gosnell did not pass the entire message on to Linden Court or Linden Court disregarded her instructions because Mom began to show signs of suffering. Courtney (a nurse at Linden Court) came to the rescue the night before Mom passed away and recommended an oxygen mask.  She contacted the on-call doctor and Mom was able to resume some level of comfort before she died but she suffered for a while before she did (which I am heartbroken over). Linden Court, you need to recommend hospice much sooner!  Also, I would not recommend Brookstone Hospice to anyone.  They tried to pressure me into signing their forms before they even did an assessment - which Great Plains Hospice does not do - despite the fact that their forms stated that an assessment had already been done.  I attempted to get Great Plains Hospice involved the same day I ran into problems with Brookstone but by the time Great Plains received the order it was too late and my mother had passed away.  She lingered for almost a week before I could get hospice involved and she never benefited from hospice because they received the orders too late. Update: According to Dr. Gosnell, she "did" pass the message on to Linden Court to put the oxygen back on my mother if needed. I also spoke to a woman at the DHHS. She was very helpful and reassuring. She said that it is not uncommon to remove the nasal oxygen and the tubes can actually cause discomfort. She also told me that there are at least two medications on the market that could have addressed the problem my mother encountered, as well. Dr. Gosnell confirmed this.
