I can't put into words how grateful I am for Fur the Love of Paws. They introduced me to my 4 legged best friend! They have made sure to keep in touch and make sure all is well and made sure the transition was smooth! 10 out of 10 would recommend this fantastic facility and in the future we will work with them again! The Rimpleys and Dandy ♥️

Fur Love of Paws Rescue and it's director, Jenn Milne, do everything to find the perfect home for cats and dogs. This includes unfortunately denying adoptions if the family dynamic and the animal aren't a good fit. Below is a negative review for an application denial. The cat mentioned below is up for adoption. The rescue I'm sure appreciates your willingness to open your home to a hard to adopt animal. However both Jenn and Jessica have been in rescue long enough to know when a family and animal fit together. Maizey Kate is not and will never "grow into" being comfortable with children. Maizey will never grow to love an infant child. Just like humans, everyone is different and Maizey Kate has a strong personality. Back to the rescue, besides housing, mending, and socializing cats at the facility, they accomplish so much more than what is seen by the public. The rescue currently only houses cats but the rescue facilitates foster homes for dogs as well. The directors spend time at the local shelter, advertising animals for adoption. This includes naming them, gauging personalities, trying to gather bio info on each animal to share with the public. They assist in low cost spaying and neutering for pets and feral cats. They also operate the lost paws Facebook page hoping to reunite lost pets with their family. All of these activities are done on a volunteer level where they give countless selfless hours to animals of our community. So to the negative reviewer below, do you not think denying a potential adoption isn't hard on them? They spend countless hours with these animals and love them as their own. They're greatest wish is to find a perfect fit for these animals even if it angers people. A denial doesn't mean you're not good with animals or a good home. It just means you aren't a fit for the animal you are looking to adopt. That leaves me to my final thought. The directors not only spend numerous hours with animals, on social media advertising or reuniting pets, or fundraising to further help animals in our community. They also spend their time dealing with disappointed people that don't adopt the animal they applied for or the angry people that don't understand why they can't just drop off a litter of kittens at the door. They deal with this negativity quietly and in stride. No one loves animals more than this small volunteer rescue and the other rescues in our community. This is truly a labor of love for them. They deserve so much more then 5 stars.

Fur the Luv of Paws is a dedicated 501c3 cat rescue. They work with our local shelter to rehabilitate unwanted, ill or unsocial cats. Fur gives tirelessly to our community cats to find the prefect home not an until home. Yes, their adoption application is detailed. They don't want the cats neglected, abused or dumped. Each cat is vetted & altered to avoid unnecessary litters. You'll not find a better rescue then Fur the Luv of Paws.

Jen and her crew are the most kind-hearted, caring people that you will ever meet. They have the absolute best interest of the cats in their hearts, no matter what situation they're in, or where they've come from. Highly recommend them for kitty adoption!!!

First of all, I want to say how amazing this place is. I truly have never seen anything like it before. Not only all the volunteers willing to give up hours and hours to take care of these cats, the actual building is so amazing it honestly can just floor you. Every single attention to detail is designed around the cats. It may seem to some foolish to be so particular about letting people adopt a cat. Or to provide such a pristine amazing place for a cat. We so often hear the phrase "It's just a cat". That will never be uttered here. Every single cat that comes in becomes a member of this family. They want you to do the steps required to show that you're going to give as much care and attention as these cats deserve. If that means showing that you have a steady vet, providing references whatever it is there is a reason. And if you are denied, It may not be anything against you but they know these cats. They all are special which means they are waiting for that special person. It gets hard because they may be there for a while and all you want is to give them a home but you cannot rush it. That's how seriously they take finding the perfect home. And if you do find yourself the recipient of one of these amazing cats then you too get to join an extension of this family. ❤️ North Platte is so lucky to have the people we do that run this facility. If you can please join the Facebook group and donate if possible, because it is such a worthy thing.

After visiting the Fur the Love of PAWS Rescue facility in North Platte on 1/7 during the one hour they may or may not be open, and meeting Jenn face to face, all I can say is wow! I don't know if I've ever meet a more rude, unfriendly, judgmental, condescending person in my life. Here's how the process went. My retired parents who are in their early 70's are looking for a cat. When they saw Vixen on this site (via our FB account), they instantly fell in love with her young, high energy, playful nature. Having had many pets over the years, they thought she would be a great fit. Given the fact that my parents are not at all tech savvy, I volunteered to fill out the ridiculously long adoption application. That was submitted on Tues 1/4, and my parents did receive a conformation email. After that, they were left in limbo until I stopped in yesterday. Right away in could tell Jenn's people skills on a scale of 1 to 10 were a solid zero. I told her who I was and who my parents were, and told her that they had filled out an application for Vixen and were very excited to welcome her into their home. Her rude reply was "I told them to message me on FB several times!" I politely informed her that they do not have FB and are not great with computers. The next response I got from Jenn was "It doesn't matter anyway, due to your parents age and the age of their current cat, Vixen will not be happy with them!" Huh, age discriminate much? She then informed me that Vixen is very active and energetic and would be climbing the curtains and my parents cat would hate her. She basically made Vixen out to be a walking tornado! Funny, I witnessed Vixen playing as I walked up to the door and she acted like I would expect any young cat to act. She then informed me that Vixen needs a home with children and another young cat to play with. At this point I was so stunned and appalled by Jenn's treatment of me and judgement of my parents without even meeting or speaking to them, I was done with the conversation. Jenn then told me to keep an eye on her site and another cat more suited for my parents might come available. I politely said "Ok, Thank you" and left. Long story short, I wouldn't adopt an animal from this vile woman if she paid me to take it. I commend her for rescuing animals and finding them a good home. It's obvious to me that she cares about animals but not people. I'm not upset about not getting the cat, we'll find a cat no problem. The older I get, the less tolerance I have for rude, inconsiderate people. If you have had a positive experience adopting from Jenn, I'm glad. Mine was beyond negative. On a side note, apparently if your over the age of 70, you're not allowed to have a young cat.

You will not find anyone that is more kind and caring than Jenn and the volunteers at Fur. The first time I walked in that place I was impressed. They are all wonderful and are helpful in every way possible even after the adoption. They love what they do and they love those cats. The cats that they take in are ones that may never have a home of their own. When I adopted they were upfront about everything and still to this day a very important part of my cats life. I would highly recommend and would adopt from here again in a heartbeat if the occasion arises again.

I thought about going to this rescue, then read reviews. Having love for and helping animals find their forever home is a beautiful act of kindness. I have and still do volunteer work for animal rescues/shelters. I have never in over 30 years of this, have seen someone actually respond to a complaint/review with such animosity to potential adopters. And with so many animals going to shelters after owners no longer needed (so sad), once COVID restrictions were eased. Who has given the right to your rescue to abuse those who are looking to provide a loving home? A 70 year old can't handle a cat or dog because YOU deem it so? The man that wanted to adopt a kitten, with a baby in the house. Oh no! They just don't measure up. The ugliness and disrespect you show to others is disgusting. Argue with them via Google, try to start something with the person who left a one star no review. (They were probably still reeling after trying to deal with you). You think having the love for animals is all you need? Everyone is dealing with something in their life. You lack empathy for others. Professionalism, is apparently beyond your scope. If you had a for profit business? You would be closed. Customer service, read about it; embrace it if you can. Whatever your personal issues are, keep to yourself. And please don't bother responding, I don't care what you think.

This is one of the most professionally run rescues I have experienced. I recently adopted a cat from them and from the application through to picking up the cat they were consistently communicative, informative and friendly. They worked around my schedule so I could pick the cat up at my convenience, and even sent her home with a goodie bag which included a hand crocheted blanket! I have worked in rescue in the past and only had dreams of being so organized and ambitious. The facility was spotless and I could tell every single one of those animals was loved. Tears were shed as my new kitty left with me, and I felt I’d met a kindred spirit in Jenn.

This place is the best place to rescue a cat. It’s like a feline Disneyland. Very passionate and caring people give their time and talents to make every cat know that they are loved and that they will find the perfect home for each one. I most definitely recommend this rescue!
