This place came recommended to us by a local at another shop. While the food wasn't bad, it definitely wasn't great. I myself had a fruit bowl & Lemon Poppy seed muffin which were fine in their own right. My companions ate more breakfasty items. The pancakes were HUGE & not in a good way. The sausage while having good flavor, was a little too crispy (burnt) and very greasy. The hashbrowns were just mushed potatoes with seasoning and maybe some cheese. Now, this place isn't bad at all. It's definitely loved but a lot of the older community (45+) & therefore has a special place in this community for a nice Sunday Hangout, but they could use a slight recipe upgrade. Other than that, the food came hot (or cold in my case as fruit should) and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Try it for yourself and see if it's a taste you'd enjoy. For me, it wasn't a favorite. Here is my lovely fruit bowl with a frosted Lemon Poppy Seed muffin.

Second visit within a month and half-ish for dinner and second time experience was really below par. Was very busy for a weekday night and doesn't seem they have a lot of servers (only saw one main waitress for our half the restaurant on our visit). As such, service was a bit slow and bit absent/inattentive outside taking our order and bringing out the food. Food was very bland and lacking any seasoning and flavor. One member ordered breakfast plate with hash browns and due to equipment issue, they couldn't do hash browns. Understandable as things happen, but instead of checking with the customer on if they could substitute it out for anything, they piled on sliced potatoes (a la potato au gratin-ish?) that were semi fried (very soggy middle) and plopped on plate. Not overly terrible, but customer probably would have opted for something else or changed their order. As mentioned, second time around trying dinner and leaving generally disappointed. Overall, not the worst diner location/experience, but definitely not the best either and will probably be choosing other locations when in the mood for diner food.

Our coffee did not have any coffee taste. More like colored water. My husband's liver was dry. My meal was left uneaten. I tried to order a salad, they were out of lettus, the pot pie was swimming in butter from the crust and without any flavor. In the past we had eaten here often, sadly this is the second time our food has been disappointing. We will not be going back.

Stauffer’s is great. We have only lived in Lincoln, NE for two years; we only discovered Stauffer’s restaurant this past year. It appears to be a popular diner-type restaurant in a strip mall off Old Cheney Rd near Highway 2. We like it. It’s open until 8 pm on Friday night; we just left. My wife and I shared a beyond meat patty melt & fries, so that we could also share a piece of pie! They’re famous for homemade pies. We got a cheesecake on the bottom covered with a layer of cherries on top of that, whipped cream on the side (seemed like it was just made!) It is not the height of elegance inside; it’s a diner, so come as you are! We received very good service and had a relaxing comfortable late dinner. I recommend this place to my friends, & breakfast is served all day long!

Ordered a burger medium rare. It was a bit over well done and partially charred. The vegetables were the most flavorable thing about it. Also got a pie there since the pies were talked up about it. To taste it and discover that they used off the shelf Betty crocker yellow cake mix, off the shelf chocolate frosting (you know the stuff. The cheap stuff that tastes a bit fake.), Was disappointing. And it had a custard instead of cream filling that tasted both off and weak. The service was good and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately for my first, and only, visit, I was not impressed with the food at all. Perhaps it was just a bad day to go there and perhaps I just ordered the wrong pie. But as a first impression, the food was terrible and not worth the money I spent. I just hope the tip goes to the server.

The food is Nebraska comfort food at its finest. Portions are huge. Staff is very helpful and friendly. You won't wait long for your food to get to your table, but there doesn't seem to be any hurry to push you out the door. Good place to talk with friends.

Good food! Great service. The soup didn't taste homemade so I probably wouldn't order that again, but everything else was pretty good. The chicken fried steak breakfast platter is tasty and I felt pretty full afterward.

Great home grown breakfast cafe! You know it’s a good sign when the most of the clientele is an older generation. Our group got a variety of breakfast dishes from omelette, biscuits and gravy, pancakes and the larger than life pecan roll. Everything was delicious! Staff was super attentive and pleasant.

I went looking for good biscuits and gravy and found great biscuits and gravy. Everything was great along with service. Looks all made in-house and when leaving seen the cinnamon rolls cooling had to get 1 to go

This was one of the best breakfast places I've visited. It's very local and feels like a small town diner, but their food is excellent! We called with a large party and they accommodated us, were very attentive and patient, and again the food! The pancakes were fluffy, egg sandwich was packed with flavor but not greasy, and everything else we ordered was totally worth it. Plus, we tried three different pies and all were excellent! Wonderful place for locals or if you're just in town visiting.
