Genesis Health Clubs - O Street

I started working out at Genesis mid-August. The staff there is great. They're friendly and helpful. The place is kept clean, their equipment is well kept and other members are usually very friendly. Dylan in sales is very straightforward about pricing and deals, and so far my personal training sessions with Jack are going great. Best gym I've been to and definitely the best I've ever had a membership at.

As a former college athlete, I’m a more experienced lifter and was looking for a place that had a variety of equipment to fit that. This gym is definitely it. The facility is kept clean and they have tons of space and equipment. The staff is polite as well. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the hours. I feel they would benefit if they extended their weekday hours even just one hour to 11 pm. My schedule doesn’t allow me to come when they open and I’ve come right after work to a zoo. I try to come later to beat the rush but even around 8:30-9 it’s a hassle sometimes. Other than that, great gym! I think it’s worth the monthly price.

I signed up with them a year ago and within two weeks they canceled my membership. This happened because the staff had no idea what they were doing. I then had to reset up my account with them. It took over a month to get things straightened out. The next issue happened a couple month’s later. The gym became so packed that I was hardly able to get a good workout in during my limited free time. In about March I canceled my membership with the gym because I had very limited free time and the gym was packed every night. I spoke with a person up front and explained to them why I was canceling my membership. They told me that if there was any issues they would have a manager call me the next day. A couple months later I finally heard back from the manager and she told me my membership was past due. I explained the situation to her and pointed out how my membership had been canceled before even though I had already paid for that month. The manager told me she would look into it and then call me back. About a month went by and their corporate called me telling me that I owed them. I explained the situation to her and she said that she would look into it then call me back. Since then they have kept repeating the same process over and over. Every time I point out that there has been previous issues on my account so the problem must be on their side. Finally today their corporate called me and we had the same conversation again. She just kept repeating herself when I explained how the issue must be on their side. The lady I spoke with then lost control of herself told me that I don’t know what I am talking about then hung up immediately after finishing her sentence. I have never talked to someone with so little self control. Very unprofessional.

I’ve been going here for 4+ years and this gym is such an inviting atmosphere. Never have I had any issues. My kids love the daycare peeps too! 🦋 …

I started going to the Silver Sneakers classes and I love it. It is so much fun! Ashley is an excellent instructor she made me feel so comfortable. The gym is full of friendly staff willing to help. The gym is very clean and organized. Very pleased!

Probably one of the worst gyms to be a member of in Lincoln. Not only do they close at 6pm all weekend and only open at 8?? making it impossible for weekend workers to go to the gym they pay for on the weekend, but they also have outrageous extra fees. They have an additional payment on top of your monthly gym fee twice a year for $40 for “cleaning” and this gym is one of the dirtiest I’ve ever seen. The only time I’ve seen it clean was when they reopened. That lasted for a month. In the summer they somehow forget to turn on their A/C. Don’t get me started on getting harassed by past sales managers. If you’re thinking of getting a membership there are so many other gyms that are 10x better in Lincoln.

Untrustworthy and unprofessional. This determination is about their advertisement and discount policy. I have been thinking to get a membership for a while. Because of that I get a lot of email from them and I see a lot of advertisement about their discounts. I understood that they don’t do any discount. The prices are fixed. They are trying to trick us. After the final Black Friday discount the prices are the same what it was 6 mounts ago. :)

The gym is well-organized, clean, and in good repair. When machines are out of order they are well marked and appear to be quickly repaired. The variety of exercise equipment available is quite exhaustive. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the trainers are both experienced and motivating. The fees are reasonable for the product provided.As a side note the other members of the gym seem to be cordial and non-judgmental of people in varying levels of physical fitness.
