The UNL College of Hair Design is great. The facilities feel professional grade, everything was meticulously clean, and my hair cut was great. Megan (dark dark hair, quiet, lip piercing) was thorough, and gave me the exact haircut that I asked for. Her supervisor was incredibly helpful and gave her some tips/cleaned up some edges to ensure that my hair looked professionally-done and clean. Plus it was only $7! I highly recommend the College of Hair Design AND Megan.

Disappointed that I couldn’t even get a trim with my $110 color. Last fall, I had my natural color along with 2 fun colors put on, and 110 was too much money especially for Demi permanent color. I never had this done but had pre bleached part of my hair in anticipation of the fun color. It never occurred to me that a Demi color would be used I definitely feel i wasted about $60. And yes the price was discussed before I started but you know I was already there ...

$78. Had to pay extra for extra product. The student cleaned her bowls out right away. The instructor wanted her to apply more so I had to pay for extra product. That was d in the student! Took almost 5 hours to hi-light! I understand they are students but still unacceptable!!

Everyone was friendly and everything worked out great. I am not super picky about my hair but I really like they cut they gave me. Totally recommend.

I entered the salon looking mousy and old. I left feeling like Cinderella. The transformation was amazing! Saffron and the instructor listened carefully and the end product was amazing! I couldn’t be happier with my highlights and cut!

Pretty disappointing. They didn’t have the supplies for the manicure I wanted to get. Opted for shellac instead… I felt bad for coming in on my day off. I’m not even exaggerating the shellac peeled off my left hand (all 5 fingers) 3 hours later. (1) I regret spending my time and money here. I do not recommend this place… you can find better service and what you need anywhere else.

I just moved to the area for college and was super excited that there was a beauty school right by me that accepted appointments. I called to try and book an appointment, and definitely will not be going to get my hair done here. The receptionist seemed beyond put off by me calling to schedule, and was flat out rude when I asked what they had available. I was shocked, probably one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had which is highly uncharacteristic of the other places around here. I did just have a lovely experience scheduling with the school down the street however! I would take your business there, much friendlier.

I have 4c type hair and would come to this location yearly/twice a year for a flat iron/trim. The more I came, the more I would notice things, but now it was too much. I went here because it's cheap and to give the students experience with textured hair (as I'm always one of their "first clients with textured hair", and I bet 9/10 of their mannequins have straight hair). But now after my recent experience I will not be coming back. THEY ARE NOT TEXTURED HAIR FRIENDLY. I cannot blame them because their director knows nothing about black hair care, so how will the students know? For one, every time I go there they are out of their textured-safe hair care products. They also never have flat irons that work for my hair texture. They also don't have a hot comb in the whole salon... are they just learning how to do one hair type? In the end my sister got a flatiron with un touched roots. What's the point? I always expected things to get better the next time but I think enough is enough. This college really needs to invest in a black instructor or an instructor that has profound/up-to-date experience with textured hair. I tipped the ladies that worked on our hair as they were friendly and were honestly doing as they were taught and working with what they had, but it's 2022. College of Hair Design: do better.
