Western Inn South Kearney

We stayed here for several work cycles, a week at a time. Each week they raised the price $10-$20. When asked why the increase the answer was "because everyone else is" which was a lie. Others that I worked with were staying at the Travelodge across the street for a much better rate. The owner told us that because we were "regular customers" he wouldn't charge us more. The following week when we returned price went way up. We were going to be there for a good portion of the year but because of the owner arguing with my roommate and him lying to us, charging us more we won't be returning. We also let the other employees know to avoid this motel. The rooms are very outdated, beds were hard as rocks. The shower surround had a gaping hole in one of the soap holders, the bathroom fan was really loud and sounded like it was going to fall out. I don't know if there actually is a pool we didn't explore. The way the rest of the building is maintained I wouldn't trust the pool or hot tub.

It was a hotel room. It is what it is. Front desk was RUDE AF! Stopped for the night for travel and front desk guy complained the whole time cause it was late and he was tired, but signs say Lobby is 24h. He tried insisting I needed to pay a deposit even though the room was already booked prior. The deposit was for if you’re paying in cash. Which I wasn’t doing. Would definitely suggest going to the next town.

The Inn is locally owned and operated and thus hometown hospitality. Clean and quiet. The staff is helpful and kind if you are respectful to them and the facility. They are very serious about the “no smoking and no pets” policy. So, if you can’t abide by that policy please choose a place that permits such activities and let the rest of us and the staff enjoy our choice of smoke and animal free rest. Thank you for enforcing those policies that made my stay very pleasant.

So I booked a room on 8/26/2022 and woke up an hour after getting there because my lower back was burning, bed bugs. At first he tried to act like we brought them in then admitted he was treating for them. He has been renting these bug rooms out because I'm the only one that got bit and only once and these bugs were FAT. Did I mention he rented this room to me my husband and our baby. Yes. Bed bugs harbor bacteria that can make you sick and have anaphylaxis shock. He gave us a refund after my husband freaked out.

Good quality for a budget option. Room was clean, beds comfy. We slept in and missed breakfast but I’ve heard good things about a waffle maker. Owner is hard-working and pleasant.

The staff. They were polite and friendly, happy to help and glad that I took advantage of the breakfast fare. They also made sure a felt welcomed and asked me to stay with them again when back in the area.

HEALTH HAZARD! BED BUGS INFESTATION! They have a history of bed bugs dating back 5+ years and still did not bother to fix it!! Rooms are separated by a door so you'll hear everything from your neighbors. Old man working at the reception was rude. STAY AWAY!

You get what you pay for. It is a nice place to stay with good complimentary breakfast and clean rooms, however the bed was rock hard and the pillows uncomfortable. It was worth the price though and the man behind the counter was friendly!

We enjoyed our stay! The room was clean and spacious. It included a large window facing the the parking lot where we could see our vehicle. A comfortable king size bed, medium -size flat screen tv, mini fridge with freezer, closet and hangers, drawer space, and a bathroom with a tub and shower. The staff was friendly and gave us fruit post breakfast hours at checkout!

My wife and I stayed at Western Inn South Kearney on August 15, 2022. What a great experience! The room had a fresh scent, and was extremely clean. It had a nice TV, a microwave oven, and a refrigerator. The refrigerator had a separate freezer compartment, in addition to the main storage area. This is a very nice, and very unusual feature. The AC worked very well, and produced white noise, that is, there was no rattle at all. The beds were comfortable. Outside, it was very quiet, so we got a great nights sleep. My wife and I both highly recommend this motel. We would be delighted to stay there again!
