Thrifty Car Rental

How can the manager yell at us, customers, even we just need an explanation of the cost and the mileage!? Is this even the right thing to do?

I’ve never logged a complaint in my life, however this was the worst experience renting a car I’ve ever had. The car was absolutely filthy and Management was the worst I’ve ever been treated. 7 years of renting cars almost weekly and I’ve NEVER had such a horrible experience.

Charged me for an extra day because I did not tell them I would be dropping the car off early. Did not state that to me during the pick up process and it’s not on any documentation. Do NOT rent from the Kearney Thifty location. Rip Off and zero customer service. Worst experience from a rental company in my 30 years of renting cars.

I had a wonderful experience in spite of me having an accident in my vehicle. Amy was very helpful, kind and thoughtful. She even pick me up and drop me at my location. Thrifty was a God sent in a pinch.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. The thrifty location in Kearney NE single handedly ruined my honey moon we planned 10 months for. My husband and I started on our road trip and unfortunately had car trouble so we had to opt for a rental in Kearney. They did not tell us 1. There were no credits for early returns 2. There were mileage limitations. I emailed the Kearney office asking if they would allow an early return and they did not respond. My husband called the next day and nicely explained to the owner Darin that if we knew there were mileage limitations we would not have rented the car because it’s purpose was for a road trip. The owner yelled at my husband and hung up on him. Since we were trapped in the vehicle and couldn’t continue with miles, we returned the vehicle after only 4 days of having it causing me to miss out on reservations for activities and hotels that I had booked on our road trip plan 10 months prior. They charged us $2000. This is so unethical and they literally fraudulently took our money during this tough time of Covid and inflation. And on top of them charging us $2000 for 4 days of a vehicle, we lost $1500 in missed reservations on our trip we ended up not finishing. And on top of all of this, I emailed them to ask for a receipt so we could see why they charged so much and they ignored my emails. So my husband called them and asked “if I was in the branch in person would you make me wait 2 days in the lobby for a receipt?” And they said “possibly” and hung up on him. Do not rent from here. Edit: In response to the owners response to my review.. 1. It was a poor judgement call to drive a Tahoe on our trip.. correct BUT you and your team offered zero customer service to us. You dodged our calls and e-mails, you were rude and you closed our ticket out late so it looked like we had the car longer than we actually did 2. We never made threats to leave you bad reviews. We said we can see why your already existing reviews are terrible and I decided after not getting a receipt and after your poor customer service to us to leave my own review. 3. Your receipt was half hand written when we got it and we never received terms and conditions. Lesson learned by us.. NEVER AGAIN will we use thrifty and I will never recommend your business to others. Everything else we can agree to disagree but this whole thing has nothing to do “with us needing someone to blame” and the fact that that came from the OWNER should speak volumes to other customers about your ethics and customer service.
