The Lodge Restaurant

It was affordable. Low end motel but rented by the week and let us keep our animal. It was close to hospital where my mom was. It was clean and actually pretty quiet. And really hot water for showers. We will be back

Ordered the Rubin meal. Best Rubin I have had for a long time. They didn't skip on the meat. $9.00 for the meal. My partner had the toco salad. Also very good. Also around $9.00 for the meal. I would recommend trying it out.

The server we had refused to take our orders. She took everyone else orders that came in after us and cleaned tables instead. The rearuraunt wasn't busy and eventually got served By another waitress. I don't know if the waitress doesn't wait to serve us because we weren't regulars.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside but don't judge a book by it's cover. Really good home cooked breakfast and very friendly staff. I would recommend this hidden gem.

Very poor service. Once our server took or order and delivered it, she never went back to our table to see if we needed anything. I asked for sweetener and jelly (had to go up from to ask for it since our server never stopped by our table) and got 3 packets of equal and 2 of jelly tossed on our table. No response to my “thank you.” Half of the breakfast for one of our party members was missing and never got delivered. They did try to charge us for it at check out though. They did give us a discount at the end for the missing food items but by that time it was a little too late. It makes me sad to think that the poor service we received was probably due to the fact that we were different from the other guests who were there and who appeared to be getting good service.

We chose The Lodge to support a local business while staying in Kearney. Upon seeing Chicken Fried Steak on the menu, I knew immediately what I was ordering. Unfortunately, a large party ahead of us ordered the last CFS and the waitress had to tell me they were out. I was so disappointed and had trouble finding something else on their varied menu which included steaks and Prime Rib only because I had my heart set on Chicken Fried Steak. A few minutes later, our waitress gave us some good news, that there was one left! That was such great news that we ordered and included an appetizer of Fried Mac and Cheese Bites. Those arrived and were just horrible. We only ate enough to try them and left the rest. The Chicken Fried Steak was delicious, flavorful and tender. My husband's Prime Rib was tender, and tasty, and the kid's cheeseburger was well received. Travelers should give The Lodge a chance. It's where the locals go for breakfast and lunch too. Prices were moderate and mostly appropriate. Four stars because the Mac and Cheese Bites were gross, and really expensive for what they were, and we would have wanted them removed from the bill. Otherwise a great meal!

I took my niece out for breakfast 2 weekends ago. I had never been there. The food was delicious and the restaurant had a very chill, homey, down to earth vibe. The staff was really nice. It was also very affordable. I did not take any pictures while there but I will definitely be giving it another go. I think we found our new favorite breakfast spot!
