I was hoping to have a good steak while traveling through cattle country. Disappointed, it was chewy and not tender at all. Got the ribeye cooked medium. It was cooked correct. Just very tough! Baked potato was very old and maybe even microwaved to warm up. Mushrooms are from a can. Not fresh. Waitress was very nice and kept checking on me. I’m not one to complain for free food. Paid in full and left a nice tip for the girl. Do better on the food!

Went there last night. They got 2 stars for the Margaritas. It was good. Now the food another story. The salad side was very nice but my rib combo w brisket was horrible. The brisket was dry, but palatable the sauce helped. The ribs were so greasy they taste like they were deep fried...no lie. I am trying to figure out how they got all these 5 stars.

I googled this restaurant on our way to east coast from California road trip I was not sure at first but the food was great really fresh and well cooked and restaurant environment was great officially was one of my best experience in Nebraska road trip I advise ribeye steak and brisket with onion sauce from the menu.

Cannot believe how great this place was! The service was topnotch and with a family of 7 and me getting steak bill was less than a hundred bucks...we can't get through McDonald's for this price. Skeeters Barnes was a hidden gem for us as we are traveling across the country. We even showed up right before closing and the staff welcomed us in and were just amazing. When we make it back this way we will definitely be stopping in for some great food!

Holy Cow! What a gem on the interstate from east to west. We ate here on a quiet Sunday night and had prompt, excellent service and huge portions of drinks, salad and meats. It seems travelers and locals alike come here, and are greeted like friends. The bar area has TV visible from some tables and they play country music, but not too loud. We had smoked prime rib and beef brisket and took about half with us, there was so much. We passed on the delicious looking desserts only bc we were so full. We will come back on our next time through!

Brisket was tender with a good bite, full flavor & subtle smoke, very light char. Mild, medium, & hot sauces all were fire with great tang and the right sweetness. Medium has the smooth kick at the end and hot has a quick kick at the beginning but rolls out smokey flavor after! The bread was amazing fluffy, flaky, buttery goodness paired with the brisket. Mushrooms were great flavorful, tender, & juicy. Mashed potatoes & ask for the gravy bc it’s worth it! Creamy and full flavor on both! Mac&cheese penne pasta with a thic, creamy cheese sauce Hits the spot! Don’t forget to take a chocolate chip bread pudding to go for breakfast tomorrow! 🥮 🔥Follow Tobes Brisket Challenge for more national barbecue reviews…🗺

They're baked beans are wonderful! You can't go wrong with their sweet potato chips and dipping sauce either ❤️

I would love to say another great visit, unfortunately I cannot. We stood at the front entry counter for a while before anyone noticed and offered to seat us. Once seated everything seemed great, until our drinks were brought to the table. Every glass was dirty, upon looking around the tables near us EVERY SINGLE GLASS WAS DISGUSTING. There was some sort of chemical/cleaning residue all but baked onto the glasses. After 10-15 minutes of waiting I finally waved down a server, when I asked for a clean glass she stared at me like I was nuts! Then I stated these glasses are dirty and ran my finger along the ridge of the cup (mason jars). She walked away into the back room… now here is where it gets fun. If you are going to talk trash about customers you should probably do it where they cannot hear you. Every snarky, rude, condescending word that came out of her mouth could be heard by everyone sitting in our section. You could hear them discussing the dirty glasses and you could hear them scrubbing new ones. After another 5-6 minutes a different lady brought out freshly hand scrubbed (mason jar) cups. (I don’t know if she was the manager or not) no one came out and said anything about the issue. While we were waiting for clean glasses the table to our right got up and left without completing their dinner or order, glasses were brought to them (dirty) they left a 20 on the table and walked out. The food was meh, Descent for a fast food place not for one charging 14.99 for appetizers and 20.00 plus for other meals. The servings were huge, Our server did a decent job, though it was obvious he wasn’t used to serving. Yes he was left a good tip, None of the employees were very friendly or even in a good mood, it seemed like the whole place was being run by a bunch of 15yr olds who were more interested in gabbing all the latest gossip back in the kitchen Or leaving as soon as they could.

Been driving for hours and needed a change of pace. Fortunately, I found a steakhouse on the way home. I ordered the Prime Rib and my son had the Flat iron steak. Medium rare. The food came out hot and fresh. The server was friendly and efficient in her work. Overall, it was a great experience. I would return again.

Saugage and m&c was good. Brisket and pork was dry. Potatoes seemed like possibly they had been sitting for a while. In defense, we showed up an hour before closing. I'd rather be told that they couldn't serve us though than be served less than perfect meal. Especially in light of the price of meals going up. Quality of food service cost nothing. The help was great though. I'm sure things are normally better. Just caught them at a bad time.
