I just love this place. The flashlights, the light bulbs. Even though I couldn't talk cuz of the face mask this place has always been the best in my book. The staff was polite and patient even though I had to resort to displaying text on my phone screen. If you guys are reading this keep up the phenomenal work. I love it

It is time to ditch the masks for those who have been vaccinated or are comfortable to do so. It could easily be "masks are requested but not required". I spend about 1/4 the time I used to spend because of the mask rule.

I was in the Hastings Nebraska location on 6-26-21 around 3:00pm to purchase materials for a new floor for my house. we were looking for a product we bought about a year ago that you appear to not carry anymore. The associate that was helping me (Brett) could not find it in the system he claimed, we even provided a SKU of the product. I asked where the 16x16 title was and he waved me to an isle but did not take me nor offer to help show me where its at. I could not find a matching 16x16 tile or any 16x16 tile at all. Menards didn't carry that size of product Brett said when i inquired with him again. So i asked that if i could return what i have so that i can get current available materials. Brett did not know so he called the General Manager of the Store (Steve). Steve asked if we had a receipt, this was being relayed through Brett on the phone not face to face, to which we do not have the receipt and Steve said that we could not return it to Brett over the phone. Now we asked to talk to Steve the GM up front face to face to make sure we are not missing anything for a possible return. He said no receipt no return and literally shrugged his shoulders and walked away without offering any other assistance to resolve the issue. Steve Didn't offer to look it up or look at our card history for the purchase. I did not feel like i was helped properly and that he even tried to help me in any way. So i called the Grand Island Nebraska location and asked to speak with the GM of that location (James). James actually looked up the SKU and he did find it. Confirmed that it was no longer carried by Menards. Here is how James went above and beyond what Steve could. 1. James looked it up and found it. 2. James emailed the company to see if they could offer me any of the product Im looking for, because I wasn't looking to return but to purchase more. 3. James offered to look through our Menards card history to find the purchase so i could return in the event the company could not get me the product i wanted. I accepted James help and gave him my contact info. None of this was offered by Steve in Hastings I called back to the Hastings Nebraska location and talked to Steve again. I asked if he had looked up the SKU him self. He said no. I Asked why he didn't offer to look through my card history for the purchase. He said it was because he assume the other associates did. I asked him if he even asked if anyone did any of these things or if they told him they did these things so that he didn't have to. He said no. So he did not care if the other store employees helped me properly nor did he care enough to properly help me which is obvious if he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away from when when I wanted help. The Manager Steve at the Hastings location is doing your company a Huge dis-service.

Had great service from a young associate. He helped me find the right size lightbulbs. But then also plugged one in for me so I could see how bright it would be. Great customer service.

Oh dear. Menards. A place where time stops. Usually, everyone is helpful and kind. Today was a different day. The employee in the cabinet department was off his game today to the point where I told him I would come back when someone else could help. He was obviously stressed out, but is that the customer's fault? He was cussing and deep sighing (I have a pre-teen so this behavior was particularly frustrating..the deep sighing, not the cussing) and yelled at someone on the phone. He was all too happy to push me away. Which, hello! If I'm asking for help with cabinets it's because I'm going to put down a bit of money. I'm sure his manager wouldn't be happy about that. I'm about to make a major life decision on my family's kitchen and I didn't want him to screw it up. Anyways, when I pulled around to pick up the kitchen sink and flooring I had purchased, the security guard was even more rude. The redeeming employees were the one in the flooring and the employee who brought out my orders. Thank you to Jose and Tanner. 👍🏻

It took over 45 minutes to pick up the in-stock bathtub we selected. We got it first and then did other shopping. We would have just come back later but they took off with our paperwork so we couldn't leave.
