El Toro Mexican Restaurant

The only reason for giving any stars is the staff is really nice and the presentation of the food was good. Other then that it was kinda pricey for what you got and the food was over cooked. we live 5 min away and had to rush home because I had to throw up. I had the seafood chimichanga ( I Love seafood )most of it was mush inside and the shrimp was like chewing on a rubber tire. It tasted as if you dipped it in lake water before taking a bite. Maybe it was just one bad experience I don’t know if I go back and it’s different I will change my review

Had the $20 three birria tacos and the shredded beef was extremely salty. The waiter asked how the food was and I complained how salty the tacos were to where they were unpalatable. The waiter said he couldn't do anything about it and was going to have to charge me the $20 for 3 tacos since the manager wasn't there on a Saturday. I argued with the waiter for 5 mins until he just walked away and gave me the bill for full price. I've never been to a rude establishment such as El Toro to where they charge you full price for food that tastes horrible and they don't even care about your satisfaction as a customer.

Excellent service and food. Wr asked the waiter for his recommendation who suggested the fajitas. I prefer very spicy food and asked if the dish could be made spicy. Without hesitation a quick yes and away he went. My wife had the chili rejano which was delicious. My son ordered shrimp tacos, very healthy portion of 3 tacos stuffed with shrimp, onion, sweet peppers, and a tasty sauce. Our server checked on us at precisely the right times and was very courteous asking how we liked each dish and answered questions about the spices and flavors. Outstanding experience and would highly recommend the spicy fajitas to anyone that has a taste for flavorful heat.

Very disappointed and dissatisfied with this establishment! Not just once but always! We try to give it more chances and are constantly unpleased! We waited for 30 minutes to even get our drinks and then waited another 20 minutes! We then decided to get ours To go! We got home and only got half of what we ordered! They are way overpriced!

The food here is phenomenal! Everything we had was great. The beans and rice were amazing, birria tacos were awesome, staff was absolutely fantastic. If I lived in town, I'd be here every week!

It was not busy when we were there. It did take us some time to decide on our order. After we decided what we wanted, we waited for our server to come by. Maybe 5 to 10 minutes later, I got up to let them know we were ready. Very pleasant. Salsa is very good and not too spicy. Cheese quesadilla was awesome. Taco was okay. Bland. Flavorless. Added some of the salsa which helped. The fajita was amazing and my guest loved everything about it. Nice atmosphere. Would go back again.

I love the El Toro restaurant in Hastings, NE. It was open a large percent of the time during the pandemic when most eating places were closed. The restaurant is very roomy, tables and booths are spaced a good distance apart, so I had no qualms about eating there during the pandemic. I love the atmosphere, the music, the service, and the excellent food. I highly recommend El Toro for your eating enjoyment!

Very good food and very good service. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Portions are very generous. I really like how they have it decorated friendly and inviting. Would definitely stop here again when we are in Hastings.

What an amazing place to eat with family, or sit at the bar and watch the game! Food is delicious, especially the Carne Asada and burritos! The staff, was one of the nicest, funniest group of people! We had so many laughs, and such a fun evening! If we lived in this state, we would come here all the time!

This is an amazing place. We are from KS and our son liveed/worked in Hastings. Eri, Natali and Teresa are amazing. Very friendly are great hosts/servers. Our son is moving back to KS but we will keep driving 3 hours when we can to visit El Toro Hastings because we love how this 3 ladies treat us. The best mexican restaurant in NE and KS❤. Best margaritas ever and food is amazing also. I wish we have a place like this in Junction City or Manhattan KS, we loved the service❤🍹
