I don’t know what happened to this place! It used to be AMAZING! But my most recent experience was really bad. The pizza was still amazing so that’s why they get 2 stars We showed up on a Tuesday night at 6:15. First, off it took 20 minutes to take our order and we probably should have left right then. We Made it clear we were in a bit of a rush and ordered some chips and food all at the same time. I asked for our pizza to go so I could get it home to my husband. We were in this restaurant for over 75 minutes and ended up getting ALL our food to go. So 75 minutes for a to go order on a weeknight. Not great.

We went here with a group of friends and family who said it was good or we probably never would have tried it. The food tasted great (particularly their caenitas). We are from San Diego and have lived around great Mexican food for more than 40 years. I only have 4 stars for 2 reasons s: the menu is a little confusing because some of the doors is misnamed. Also, service was SUPER SLOW! We waited over 30 minutes to have our order taken (this place is not that big) and we waited another 30+ to get it. There really was no reason we should have waited that long for either. But the food tasted good. It is a little overpriced, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted. It was worth the trip but I doubt I will be back.

The best part of our visit was the service. The food was not the best. But we have enjoyed it before, so we will try again. Maybe just an off day. It happens.

The heyday of SanAnn'a Pizza was in the early 80s when it was in it's original manifestation as "Sax's Pizza". The new location is a smaller location, but the original recipes, most critically for the cheese dip and pizza sauce, remain the same and definitely worth the trip.

Ordered two bean burritos to go and they were not even rolled when we got home. Also ordered smothered on the side and we only got a small cup of salsa for just one. Wasnt worth it at all. We could have gotten more from taco bell. Was very disappointed. It was always good in the past. Not sure what happened this night.
