Penny's Diner

Staff were nice. The place needed a better cleaning. Our table wasn't the greatest. The food took about 20 minutes. The pancakes were cold. My brother got the chilli burger there. It wasn't all that good. My dad tasted it and said it was ok. I had the bacon cheese burger. Nice big burger with lots of toppings. The bacon was the best. The fries were thier own style. I liked the seasoning coating. You can see it in the pictures. The staff get 5, the bacon cheese burger 5, The bacon 5 stars. Chilli burger 2, The clean aspect 3, fries 5, time it took to get the food 1, temp of food 2. My burger and fries were hot but not fresh out the kitchen hot. All together 4 stars.

We had a pleasant experience. Place was clean, and the food was good. One man running the entire place, took the order, cooked the food and was very nice.

Our lunch was delicious and the diner was clean. Very attentive wait staff. Will be back again soon.

We stopped here for breakfast while heading up to Yankton area to hunt deer. Service was quick and so was the food. Our waiter was friendly and engaged us well.

Dont go. Food horrible.Lettuce sat so long in refidge it was rotten,but they served it in the salads. Cook didn't know how to cook.There were no condiments,S/P, napkins,all behind counter.Tables all cleared.An Orange soda was $7.00.It tasted like water.It was an embarrassment.We couldnt believe a business could be run like that. The food was so bad, we couldn't even eat it! Save yourself time & money, go elsewhere!! I have never written a review like this!!

I used to go to Pennys a couple years back and had no problem. It’s incredibly sad how bad it has gotten. One late night my family and I stopped there since no other place was open besides McDonald’s and boy I was very disappointed. The server was the cook and gave us an attitude the whole time. The food was not completely cooked, pancakes were extremely huge falling out of the plate. She messed up our orders and got mad that we let her know. We didn’t want to be rude since she was the only person so we told her to not worry about it. We still ate whatever we had and regret it because we had an upset stomach all night. I rate this place a 0 for bad customer service and also the place needs a lot of work.

Penny's diner has always been a favorite of mine, but this one takes the cake. Josh was an amazing host/ waiter/ cook and an all around good guy. He's friendly and welcoming. I was staying in the Baymont next door and needed something fast. This diner delivered perfect. Thank you so much. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Fremont.

I can see why there have been bad reviews for this eatery. The restaurant is not being taken care of internally. Lights and plumbing are fine. That is cleaning under the boothes, window sills (I killed a live bug), and wiped dead nats, Salt and pepper caddies, syrup containers, et cetera et cetera. Should not tape off areas the server doesn't want to serve. Tacky as u can get. Server was cook. Thank goodness we went in and nobody else. Received food. No butter so I sent the pancakes back to microwave. NO WAY someone could cook and serve effectively unless griddle is up front. It wasn't. Poor operation. Who's the owner, ill buy the 50's style train car. I was there 5 years ago and place was rocking.

No just no! Run away! First this place is dirty. We were looking for a different diner. We went to leave but the staff promised we'd love it, so we stayed. Big mistake. There was a child that appeared to belong to someone in the staff, that was running around and being thrown around by our server. Loud and completely out of place. Server continued to talk to us while we waited for our food, conversation was awkward and not appropriate when you are trying to enjoy the company you arrive with. What appeared to be staff was sitting eating and not helping in the kitchen. Food took almost an hour for almost no one in the place. Fries were burnt and smelled like old oil. Food is mediocre at best.. Stay away. It is not woth your time, patience and money.

Horrible. Run away as fast as you can. We thought this would be a fun place to go. The table had to be washed off before we could sit down. They were out of the first three items I tried to order. The food was undercooked even after being sent back. French toast was raw in the center. It was only me and my daughter and one other man when we went. Very unprofessional waitress. She had earbuds in and literally said she couldn't wait to leave. We couldn't wait to leave either. The whole building needs a major cleaning.
