Sears used to be associated with quality, now this phone prompt is outsourced to agents pushing to subscribe to the warranty, rather than truly handling repair appointments. When an appliance needs to be repaired, the last thing people want is to have to go through half a dozen phone prompts to reach, what sounds like a non local agent, who isn't familiar with the area, trying to push a sale to the warranty subscription before even truly listening to the issue that needs to be resolved.
